Hydra is still great, after all this time. Best plane for ground striking, and you can use VTOL to hover directly above your enemy (he can't aim straight up). If you know how to fly planes in GTA V, you will like Hydra.

What about dogfights - if you see that, let's say, enemy stole a lazer and coming for you - fly up. 90% of all players i've met don't look on radar to see are you above or below them. And diving on your enemy while having twin explosive autocannons is the best way to kill them.








and what about lazer...
only steal it from military base.

It's a great plane, but it's NOT worth 6,5 millions.
The only upgrade availible is paint change, so, if you REALLY want to fly a pink lazer, there you go.
Still, remember that you can paint your Hydra too,

You've given no actual advantage the Hydra has over choosing the Laser tho.

Vtol ability is only relevant for landing. The Lazer can take off quicker than the Hydra can reach safe flight speeds in VTOL.

The Laser is easy to land on the ground too. So the Hydra has a slight advantage there.

The Lazer can fly straight up. The ability to hover above your opponent cancels itself out. He might not be able to aim straight up, But he can simply move towards your tail and kill you before you have the chance to wheel around.


And dogfight wise, The Laser is better.



Only bonus Hydra has is speed and Landing ability. If it didn't have EXP rounds it would be the worst jet fighter in the game.

If you want the Lazer, I'd say its a better investment to buy the Zancudo Hangar.

You can then steal them and only get 2 stars (none during some missions).

Unless you REALLY want to fly a hot pink Lazer.

For the price of 1 lazer you can buy a Zancudo hanger and a hydra for roughly the same money.

Lazer is on sale right now, get it while it's on sale. If you don't own hydra then get hydra first.
