Install a trainer and spawn them in single player, test them by doing whatever you want, remove trainer; go online and buy which one do you like.

I prefer Neon, I love its smooth and arcadey feel.

there is no such thing as worth it, if you like the car, get it, drive around in it.
if you wanna try it out without dling a trainer, just start a race on your own and test them
