PS4 Controller Support for FiveM

Why Can't I Play In FiveM w/ PS4 Controller?

Everytime I plug in my controller and setup via Steam it works with any game I play; GTA V, American Truck Sim, etc. But when I open FiveM and load into a server I can't use the damn controller I'm forced to keyboard cat the entire time. I joined a RP community that I'm really happy to be apart of but I need to get this controller thing figured out before my first RP session or it's not going to be an RP session.

Background Information

- I have been able to play with the PS4 controller via Steam with all of my videos games.
- I'm NOT using Bluetooth! I am using the USB that came with the controller when you buy with the PS4 system.
- If I have to pay for a program or pay for something I'm not doing it. I'm trying to find a fast fix that's free before Friday as this NEXT upcoming week is my Spring Break and I want to have fun.
- I'm not downloading DC3 or DC4 or whatever it's called. It's doesn't work at all and it's full of ads. Never even found one thing showing it was a tool for controller connecting.
- I tried InputMapper and well it ♥♥♥♥♥♥ my entire PC. If you really want details on that just DM me.

I've found away that works for me.

open steam in big picture mode - go to settings - base configurations - desktop configurations - browse configurations- templates - and then select game pad - minimise big picture mode (do not close) - run fiveM

Inputmapper works fine with almost everything, (using same: ps4 controller+usb) why would it ♥♥♥♥ up ur entire pc? Try different version maybe

// First time I installed it, every key I pressed would always come out as: "+" no matter what, even the F1 to F12 keys which I only use for GTA and nothing else at all. I had to wipe my PC and reinstall everything and I tried it again and it worked weirdly. Been playing peaceful all these months now.

that does help but ruins the software for my xbox one controller. not all the buttton layout work.
if i'm driving i can't look back or honk the horn.
