Online Activation Required FIXED!!!!!

After spending 3 days trying to get GTA V to work (I only play story mode) I could not get the game to run without getting errors saying that I need to sign in to the Rockstar launcher etc. After spending 3 days working with the Rockstar support team and no help. Well I decided to look into the game files myself and FIXED IT... In the Grand Theft Auto game file, navigate to the "commandline.txt" file then delete -scofflineonly , save then exit. Start up game then good to go. After 3 days of uninstalling the Rockstar game launcher and re-installing, trying different network settings, doing a bunch of nonsense the support team told me to do, etc. I finally got GTA V to work!!!!

i didn't have help besides the help i got from Rockstar support team, and thanks for being a troll. i figured my post would help others. Some people are on here in need of help or to help others, unlike other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on here to troll. have a great evening.

Is it known? This is the first I've come across it, and I can't find the GTA game file. 'The' file? There's only one file?? @Soosmokie your post is worse than OP as you don't post anything relevant at all. No links to other places that it's mentioned, nothing helpful at all. Good job participating in a conversation... want a cookie?

3. search scoffline
4. read results

The GTA game file is located in SteamLibrary>steamapps>common> Grand Theft Auto V. Then find the "commandline.txt" file> open it, then delete "scofflineonly" (if its in the text) >then save file> close> then start up game

Thank you for clarifying my discussion post, Like I said these discussions are meant to help people having issues. Was hoping this would help others having the same issue. Thanks again, unlike others trying to drop their 2 cents in.

Man DjSkeejay Thanks I look everywhere no post talking about this issue, search videos try to fix it on my own. Forget critics that is thier job to feel important making issues of small matters. I just thinking if Soosmokie had the solution why didnt he post it simple as that.. Thanks this really fix my issue about time I was going insane.

there are a lot of posts with this info which means you didn't search very well. if you followed my instructions above you would have found a lot of posts with this info. Im not the one who fixed this issue, others are. I didn't start this post, so im not sure how I would post this fix in this post before the OP who made the post. Not sure why I would create a post when there are a lot of posts with this info.

here ya go. a simple search shows the info you say is not available in these forums. BTW i never said I have a solution. I am stating this is a known solution that the OP did not discover on his own.

Yes, there are plenty of posts floating around that would have systematically helped people sort out their errors much faster than a few days. Just, no one wants to post log files or crash reports. A large portion can't even properly post the error message they have.

The new wave of people this year that do nothing but moan and complain, try random things off google or scream for youtube videos (especially screaming at ME for ME to MAKE them for them) ---- has me fully not caring about updating any of my links with the 'new launcher' tidbit information.

While you guys keep posting on how this threat is already post, in no post goes directly to the source problem like what this post is going for ( Online Activation Required FIXED!!!!!!! ) easy and simple to fix directly on this post. While psykoteky looks like he is trying to write a new bible, this post actully goes directly to the fix with out having to write so much. I bet if someone find both post and looks at them I'm pretty sure they would go for the short and sweet version simple as that.

The original post directly has a single fix to said problem. That problem has many fixes - at most you've confirmed 1 (and it woulda been faster than 3 days). That is all I am saying.

some people are tech savy and can read through forums pretty fast for a solution.

you say no post goes directly to the source problem, this comment shows that you don't know how to use a search bar.
