"Player is no longer in session" When trying to join friend, vice versa.
So a friend and I are trying to play together and whenever we try to join each other, public session or even friend/invite server, it will always say "player is no longer in session" and boot whoever is trying to join to another public lobby. We have tried turning off firewall, messing with port forwarding, making sure both of our UPnP was enabled. I'm at a loss of how to play with a friend here.

We both have the same ISP and speeds, he is using an all in one modem and I am using a Modem + Router setup.

He just bought the game and we have been trying for about 3 days now, done everything we could. I haven't played GTA V in about a year but that year ago I could play with friends without that many problems.

In that case ISP is definitely a problem.

Its your NAT type. your network firewall

use this link to setup port forwarding. don't download any software, skip the ads and it will give you step by step instructions on how to set it up and what ports it needs.

Peer to Peer games require port forwarding for seemless gameplay
