IIRC, for unsellable cars, you need to completely fill all garage spaces with some cheap (stolen) dummy cars, then destroy an insured vehicle and call Mors Mutual.
Reclaim the car, and since the garage is full, replace the car you want removed permanently.

Yeah this is for any cars you get for Free, you cant sell it, so you have to 'replace' it using the method you stated here.
