Ramming in races
obligatory "oh hes just mad cuz bad/get good" comments aside its just my thought. Even if R* made the tracks double the width of the LSIA airstrip you would still ram people.

If you want to ram people play any of the Burnout games since it is the main aspect of the games.

There isn't really an excuse to do it unless that person purposly did it to you.
For example I draft behind you then overtake you on the inside line with a large gap between us does that mean you should ram me? not really. I know that there isn't really any punishments for doing so and that non contact exists but non contact is boring since all you need is the current fastest car with max upgrades since you can't draft.

Forza, GT (Grand Truismo), NFS, Mario Kart are all racing games that allow you to race against other players and with the exception being Mario Kart (since power ups or whatever) you don't see people ramming in those games.

They dont even get that we can pull eachother up through the field if i slipstream you then you slistream me, repeat untill in first. They will ram just as you overtake and a lot of the time screw themselfs over in the process.

Iv found if you let go of accelerator as they try to pit you your car gets raelly "heavy" and a lot of the time they spin instead :)

However, some things I believe, like a certain tattoo, are unlocked by killing players in races. But I am with you on this, I avoid hitting other drivers if I can... but its not that easy at times.

yep. Ever since the new NASCAR race has dropped its more frequent and hectic since you can have 30 people racing. Not only that but there are people who purposely stay laps behind so they can drive into people

Or drive in the opposite direction, or park in a tight roadway and block you.

The Stunt Race.. 'At the Races' is like that... its that oval track next to the hghway where it says Casino out front.
You just go round and round in ralley cars and basically its a ramming frenzy. Motorbikes dont fare well.

I feel your pain op

I can't stand it when players ram. I've seen ramming in NFS, Forza and some other simulators... but its not to the extend of GTA.. I raced with a friend for awhile yesterday, and despite being a decent driver, and a clean racer (I avoid intentionally ramming) We had one guy who would constantly run us off the track or try to. It makes me upset, when someone wins simply, because they play dirty. I'm not competitive, I don't mind losing if you're better than me, but to run me off the track is a cheap tactic.

It's funny as hell though when you juke a rammer and he ends up flying his car off into oblivion. I feel your pain though, getting pit manuevered isn't fun at all.

For a lot of the races there were the variations, gta race, normal race, and no-contact. Sadly you don't get those options during the new races. Still there was a point to the variations, gta race so you can shoot the other racers for advantage. Normal race so that bumping was in the game so you might cause someone to swerve and in general had to avoid too many collisions. Non-contact was so that every racer was really trying to get their best path around the track.

I believe that bumping is actually fine in most races, including the new races, as long as the spirit of every racer is still to win the race. When they decide to bump other people to make sure that person falls behind, it is no longer in the spirit of winning the race. They just want to screw someone else. When all you want to do is screw someone else, then it is griefing and really should just be reported. Granted the punishment should just be that they can't join those races for a week or something.

Just remember that there is a difference between bumping because you are both trying to make the turn fast, and bumping because they are targeting you. Some people consider any touch to be an absolute insult and will complain even though there is no way to avoid every bump and still be trying to win the race.

Become host and turn off contact. Ignore anyone who's crying to turn it on.

oh no another autistic racer without any friends
have you already thought about all these options to find same minded people?
There are racing crews, lots of events for racers
check out other forums like reddit or http://gtaforums.com

you should learn to solve your problems on your own.

What should R* change?
you already said you don't like the noncontact version, because you arent good enough to win in that mode

ramming is part of racing deal with it
especially when you are talking about nascar

Glad to see racing hasn't changed since the 5 years I've been playing.

I quit racing way back in 2013 because on PS3, Everyone always chose the Adder. and the winner of the race wasn't the best driver, but who could avoid the massive pile-up at the starting line..which was usually whoever was out in front anyways.

Decided to try a race in 2016, same thing still happened. Haven't touched that trash mode since.

If they rammed in Nascar the way players ram in-game, The drivers would be getting fines and suspensions. Get outa here.

says the guy who stopped racing in 2013...
who cares about the fines and all the other stuff it still happens...
it isn't always intended only in your mind

it is all about having a good time and not wining
The rammer often crash during their attemp so what is your problem.

btw who used an adder with its awful handling?

how childish are you? i am not bad at races i just don't like non-contact races because as i stated, all you really need is the games current fastest car to win since you can't draft. let me guess "lol drafting is for bad racers". right so any racing game even ones dedicated to realism or real life races themselves shouldn't draft?

If there are racing crews (which i do know exist), wouldn't they create their own races/race tracks which encourages ramming?

Look the main problem is your playing GTA for racing. Even know the mind set of GTA is ram and kill everyone that’s not you. Hell in most GTA games you sometimes get missions that have you ram cars off the road. Plus there will never be a punish a player because he ram me off the course in GTA. If you want non ramming races either find a lobby with no contact or don’t play GTA racing.
