[NOT SOLVED] GTA 5 crashing on loading screen because of dlclist.xml and AddonPeds
Can someone please help me? My GTA 5 keeps crashing half way into the loading screen. It's 100% because of AddonPeds and dlclist.xml. The game loads and works when I take
dlcpacks:\addonpeds\
out of dlclist.xml, but then I can't load in my peds, it says: Error: (pedname) was not found on peds.rpf

Can some on please help me?

Additional Info: Addon Peds previously worked for me (up until a few days ago), but I had to replace the dlclist.xml (in my 'mods' folder) with my original dlclist.xml, and Addon Peds hasn't been working ever since.

You've installed all the other requirements correctly?
( and per the readme... missing a slash. -
dlcpacks:\addonpeds\
)

2. Requirements
You will need the following mods/tools installed to run AddonPeds:

Last version of OpenIV
Last version of Scripthook
Last version of ScripthookVDotNet (also has its own requirements)
Last version of NativeUI (goes in gtav / scripts folder)

3. Installation (Using mods folder method)

Open scripts folder, copy PedSelector.dll and paste into your GTA V scripts folder (YOUR GTAV FOLDER\scripts\)
Open dlcpacks folder, copy addonpeds folder and paste into (YOUR GTA V MODS FOLDER)\update\x64\dlcpacks\)
Start your OpenIV and Enable "Edit Mode"
Go to: (mods/update/update.rpf/common/data)
Extract dlclist.xml to somewhere (I personally just rightclick/edit and then save)
Using a text editor, open dlclist.xml and add the following line before the </Paths> line:

dlcpacks:\addonpeds\

Save and import the edited dlclist.xml to OpenIV (in the same path of dlclist.xml)
Run AddonPeds Editor.exe as administrator and click "REBUILD" button. Done!

Hotkeys - In the game, press "L" to open Ped Selector Menu.

Thanks for all that, I know it took a while to write this. I forgot to mention that addon peds was working for me a few days ago. What happened was my cousin wanted to download the Batmobile mod for me, it worked but it also messed up my dlclist.xml, I couldn't spawn any vehicles or objects (such as weapons, etc.) from GTA Online, not even stuff from the very early updates. I replaced dlclist.xml with my original dlclist.xml (that was not in the 'mods' folder) and everything was working, except for addon peds, it kept on saying: Error: (pedname) was not found on peds.rpf whenever I tried to select a ped, this was because
dlcpacks:\addonpeds\
was not in the original dlclist. So I pasted it in (in every correct way I could find), but when I tried to open GTA V, it crashed in the loading screen after I had clicked on Story Mode (like approx. 15 seconds after). I took out the line of code and GTA V successfully loaded, but obviously I still couldn't select any of my peds.
Don't quote me - I copy/pasted that crap straight from the readme.txt.
I'd greatly appreciate it if someone with all the current updates would share their dlclist.xml with me (It'd also be a great bonus if it already has
dlcpacks:\addonpeds\
in it) :)
If you are using a "mods" folder - Verify cache. Tada, you have the updated dlclist.xml.
(which would be in update/update.rpf - which you extract, and replace...
in the mods/update/update.rpf...)

Hopefully a modified gameconfig.xml wasn't also mangled and needs replacement.

Verify integrity of game files, right?

Do I delete the original dlclist.xml before I verify cache?

It didn't work... Thanks a lot anyway :)

No luck :(
Then that isn't the problem. (assuming you correctly extracted the new verified vanilla dlclist.xml from update/update.rpf - edit'd it properly - and put it back in mods/update/update.rpf)

Then what is? It works when I take out the line of code.
How should I know what your cousin did, or you did, while attempting to install something else - or uninstall/fix it. I mean, we're just working under assumptions here that you even did everything that was copy/paste'd outta the readme. If something is wrong with the mod installation - and you remove the code, therefore... don't load the mod..

And now on my saturday night, I'm half tempting to spend my "me" time - and install openiv, and the stuff needed for addonpeds - just to watch it all work without issue.

Honestly? Rename your mods folder - to mods-possiblyfukt~
Create a new mods folder - install only addonpeds via directions above.
Test.

Installed exactly as directions say on a vanilla gtav- including rebuild.

And for giggles ----
Deleted mods/x64/dlcpacks/addonpeds/dlc.rpf
~Error: superman was not found on peds.rpf

Ok thanks for the help and sorry for taking your time :)
Just incase there are still others out there trying to resolve this irritating bug, I found a solution on another site. Look at your current dlclist.xml file and look at the items currently listed and if a line item has forward slashes (/) around the inside value replace them with a backslash (\). Notice how the addonped item had backslashes while all other items didn’t just like this example below.

WRONG:

dlcpacks:/patchday19ng/

dlcpacks:\addonpeds\

CORRECT:

dlcpacks:\patchday19ng\

dlcpacks:\addonpeds\
