If I complete the main story first, then will it lock me out of any possible side missions or miscellaneous missions?
I’m a completionist so I want to finish every possible mission and collect every possible collectible. I'd also like to buy every possible property in this game but I've read that the only way to have enough money for that is to complete the main story FIRST, then do the Lester assassination missions afterwards while buying/selling stock accordingly during those missions. So my question is, if I complete the main story first, then will it lock me out of any possible side missions or miscellaneous missions? Also, if I finish the main story first, can I still collect all the collectibles?

By the way, I usually do side missions & collectibles first and then the main story LAST so that I could reap the benefits of everything that can be purchased in the game (weapons, income from properties, etc) while doing the main story. So to me, it kind of doesn’t make sense to complete the main story first, and then only after that spend the money on the bigger things you wanted during the game. Once the main story is completed, what is the point really? So anyway, if I do finish the main story first, will it lock me out of any side missions?

I don't know if this happens and I don't want to receive any spoilers, but if any of the 3 characters dies during the main story, wouldn't that lock me out of his side missions? That's one of the reasons why I don't want to complete the main story first. I just want to make sure I have enough money to buy all the properties. Is it possible to finish all the heists and all the Lester assassinations and make the most money out of the stock market before or if any characters die?

If the character dies, it's side missions go with it.
"C" is the answer.

Ok, thank-you. If I finish the main story first, then buy all the properties that I wanted, is there a lot left to do? I wanted to get income from the properties as I progress in the game but if the main story is completed, I'm worried that there won't be a whole lot to do. So is a good strategy to save all the side missions for last and save all the collectible items for last so that there's still stuff left to do as the properties are making income?

Depend on you how to complete story, some side missions / activies may be completely removed. However, when you come to that point; you will understand what to do so you are not going to lose any activity.

If you want to have ingame %100 completion, you can beat story however you want; your choice does not effect %100 completion, all activies required for %100 completion are protected.

If you want to have %100 completion according to Rockstar Social Club Site
1) If you didn't play this game on old gen, there is no way obtain this; 2-3 things are exclusive to returning players
2) You need to have all characters alive
3) There is one Random Event is disabled after specific point. It is not important, but seeing it with a lock on Rockstar Social Club is annoying. You will meet a car dealer, after doing few missions 4-5; write his name to google and find location of his damn random event and complete.

The game does not offer much after you beat the main campaign, it is better to leave some side activities to end.

I want to you to give a tip, can save you replaying again for money; but it is kinda spoilerish; so i am not sure if i should write or not.

you can do side quest later if you choose the option 3 during final story mission and don't depend on property income they won't do much, all you need to do is invest all your money on stock before finish franklin assasination Mission.

Grsyh1990, you can send me a private message if you think the advice about the money is spoilerish. I want to own all properties. I know about the Lester assassination missions and using the stock market.

After reading what people wrote, I now want to save the rest of the Strangers & Freaks missions, Hobbies & Pastime missions, Random Events, and Misc missions for LAST. So if all characters are alive at the end, you are 100% sure these are all available?

Which Random Event is disabled after a specific point? Can you give details about that? What is the specific point? And what is the car dealer's name? Is this the only mission that is disabled?
Outlier Mar 5, 2018 @ 7:24am
Is the name of the Random Event that can be disabled, Simeon Yetarian? That mission is locked for me and I can't enter the dealership to trigger anything. I guess I'm locked out of that one. Damn, this is the exact reason why I prefer doing side missions first, then story missions last. Are there any other missions that can be locked out like that after progressing the main story? Or is that it? I wanted to go for the Rockstar Social Club 100% completion (completing every possible thing).

Also, what are the names of the 2-3 missions that can only be completed by returning players?

Okay, if you know about Lester & Stock market then you know what to do.

Yes, they are all avaliable, apart from random event called "Simeon Yetarian random event". You should complete his random event before unlocking Trevor . If you don't, it will permenantly be locked. You should go his dealership before unlocking Trevor outside the missions. Random events may not be triggered everytime, so give a visit few times.

If you do these right you will end up with a Trillion on each character.

Some events are time sensitive and can only be done at certain times of day ingame.

OP, the only reason missions would ever disappear is if you choose to kill a character in the main story. So just dont kill anyone and watch the alternate endings on youtube.

Unlock Michael, do the first mission given by Lester; then you should probably trigger his random event.

Sea Plane & Duel these two random events are returning exclusive.

Wildfire Photography & Stock Car Races are returning exclusive hobbies & pastimes.

These are the "missable" things in GTA V:

• Random events:
http://gta.wikia.com/wiki/Random_Events

--Simeon Yetarian:
(note: no blip on the map)
Can only be done between "Friend Request" and "The Jewel Store Job".

--Getaway Driver:
If Patrick McReary dies, or you deliver him to the Altruists as Trevor, you can not hire him as a heist crew member.

--Altruist Cult Shootout:
You need to deliver 4 people from a limited pool of people from other random events to the Altruists.
If you run out of deliverable people, you can't trigger this event (and miss a couple of weapons and $100k in suitcases).

• Maximized stock market profits ($1.5 billion for each character):
Don't do Lester's assassination mission until after you've finished the main mission.
To maximize that amount, follow this guide:
http://gta.wikia.com/wiki/Lester's_Assassinations

• Stock cars & Marshall monster truck: [bug]
http://gta.wikia.com/wiki/Stock_Car_Racing
(Returning player bonus only)

In one of my playthroughs, the map marker for the stock car races permanently disappeared somewhere late in the game (after final mission??), so I could not unlock the stock cars and the monster truck.
In the next playthrough, I immediately did the races, as soon as I had access to them with Trevor.

Regarding the "Altruist Cult Shootout" random event, I'm sure I completed it. When I look in the Rockstar Social Club checklist, that name "Altruist Cult Shootout" is not even appearing as one of the available Random Events. Where does it appear? If it's appearing for you, which row and column is it in?

If I start a new game (in order to get the missed Simeon Yetarian mission), does that completely delete the previous game I played and I won't be able to go back to it? And say I did complete the Simeon Yetarian mission in a new game. After it fills up the Rockstar Social Club checklist, will all my previous checklisted items still be there? Or do they get deleted once a new game starts?

You don't need to do Altruist Cult Shootout, it is a rare thing that not counted in both in game & rockstar social club completion.

If you start a new game file, all previous unlocks on Rockstar Social Club will be locked again until you do them on that save file. If you missed Simeon i don't think it worths to restart.

I got 3 out of the 4 hitchhikers. The 1st one I intentionally didn't pick him up because he is the guy with the stock tip and I wanted to wait until I had more money before picking him up. Since I saw his blue dot on the map and I heard him asking for a ride but I did not pick him up, will he respawn again? Or did I only have 1 chance to get him?

What are "returning" players exactly? I'm on PC and after I finish my first playthrough, say I want to "return" and play it again in a new game. Does that make me a "returning" player?
