So much older. I have so many games in my Steam collection that are faaaaar older. :~)
R* uses their own game engine to build many of their games in (simmilar to Bethesda).
This engnie is called Rage. GTAIV was built in Rage ERB2, and GTAV was built using Rage ERB3.
RDR was based on Rage ERB2, but a modified version. Due to the development being rushed, and trying to push the limits of the PS3 and Xbox360, modifications were hastily made to the engine itself and were never documented.
The game basically runs on a custom variant of ERB2, and since there is no documentation the only way to port it over would mean picking it apart and basically rebuilding it. This has been deemed not to be cost effective due to the amount of work and labor force it would entail...
A modding team did try to port the game to ERB3 (GTAV's engine) but from what I understand, got shut down for using copyrighted assets from RDR without legal consent ( I like to call legal BS like this social constipation...)
So unless someone wants to rebuild the game from the ground up, or beseech R* with a mountain of cash to fund the project, I dont believe it will ever happen...
They'd have to pretty much redo the game from scratch if it's supposed to work properly, it's barely working as is.
I think they’ve fixed the GFWL by changing it with Xbox Live account to sign in.
