Red Dead Redemption!!!
Grand Theft Auto 5 is on Steam so why not Red Dead Redemption??? Wouldn;'t it be a good idea to release it here before Red Dead Redemption 2 comes out? People would have Red Dead on their minds before the release of 2. Also, have the integrity to do what it takes to remove the Windows Live protocols from Grand Theft Auto 4. It has never worked for me on PC and even causes issues with my GTA 5 sign-in after I try to use it. You have the money and the time. Please remove the Winows Live Protocols from Grand Theft Auto 4 so I can actually use it on my PC. Thanks. Also remove them from Flatout : Ultimate Caarnage. Two big games that they take money for, even though everyone knows they don't work. Uncool.

I don't think they are even planning to release red dead redemption 2 on pc!

Cos on RDR series work R* San Diego, a studio which since 2003 do games only for consoles.

It did take quite awhile for GTA 5 to come to PC, so let us have Red Dead Redemption now and I can play that on PC while waiting for Red Dead Redemption 2 to come over, which I will play on a console till it does. The smart thing to do would be to release Red Dead Redemption now and 2 as soon as possible. Please be smart!

I'm sure what you say is true but they own the game and have the money and time to bring it over and then they'd make money from it and expand its player base hugely. Gotta be worth it in the end. Bring me Red Dead Redemption so I don't have to always play it on XBOX One. Pleeeease?!?

you should take these "arguments" directly to take2

Never happen. RDR is 8 years old, porting to PC is difficult enough, can't imagine it with and 8 year old game or if it can even be done. Introduces bugs sometimes, like I remember reading somewhere that one ported game caused double player damage because it went from 30fps on console to 60fps on PC.

There have been games brought over to steam that were far older than 8 years. Far, far older.
So much older. I have so many games in my Steam collection that are faaaaar older. :~)

From what I have heard, it is a technical issue that prevents RDR from being released on PC.

R* uses their own game engine to build many of their games in (simmilar to Bethesda).
This engnie is called Rage. GTAIV was built in Rage ERB2, and GTAV was built using Rage ERB3.

RDR was based on Rage ERB2, but a modified version. Due to the development being rushed, and trying to push the limits of the PS3 and Xbox360, modifications were hastily made to the engine itself and were never documented.

The game basically runs on a custom variant of ERB2, and since there is no documentation the only way to port it over would mean picking it apart and basically rebuilding it. This has been deemed not to be cost effective due to the amount of work and labor force it would entail...

A modding team did try to port the game to ERB3 (GTAV's engine) but from what I understand, got shut down for using copyrighted assets from RDR without legal consent ( I like to call legal BS like this social constipation...)

So unless someone wants to rebuild the game from the ground up, or beseech R* with a mountain of cash to fund the project, I dont believe it will ever happen...

RDR is too much of a programming mess for Rockstar to even try to fiddle with in the first place. Like, you can literally see human-birds just like that for some bizarre reason.
They'd have to pretty much redo the game from scratch if it's supposed to work properly, it's barely working as is.

Thank you so much for all the insights but nothing can curb my desire to see RDR on PC except for it actually happening. Please let it be :~)
I would love to play RDR but it’s better to play it after RDR2. Because the story of RDR2 takes place before RDR.

I think they’ve fixed the GFWL by changing it with Xbox Live account to sign in.
