There is the openiv.asi for loading mod'd packages - though it should be installed already...

So... take out 1 at a time til it stops crashing. Magic.
Scripthookdotnet also has/had pre-reqs - just incase~

*and it is RealisticGunSounds 2.6...?~
Yes, specificity in names matters.

Edit - just installed them all - no other gameconfig. Works fine here.

You probably need to download another "gameconfig", try it

Edit my original post to say RealisticGUNSounds, thanks. Gonna try the game config thing now to see if it fixed anything...

Nope, game still crashes. Will try removing one by one.

Seems the GunSounds mod was the problem, after I removed my "mods" folder everything loaded in just fine.

Didn't have a problem - though someone mentioned some recent changes might cause problems.
They said that the oiv version was causing crashes so I did manual instead...
Also, I don't think the mod itself is the problem, I installed a different weapon sounds mod and still a crash, so yeah.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

OpenIV.asi is installed. I copied my x64 and update folder to mods folder, then installed weapon sounds to mods folder... I think it's a problem with mods folder since I tried 2 different weapon sounds mods and both made me crash.

I've also already tried running the game on safe mode, aswell as verifying files. Would you mind sending me a screenshot of your game directory? Perhaps we have something different.

My gtav directory started as 100% vanilla. I went down the list of mods and installed them.
Copied in dinput8.dll/scripthookv.dll to folder. Then the 3 dotnet files. Created scripts folder.
Tossed rollover, takedowns, crawlinjury into scripts folder. Drag/dropped menyoo asi/folder.
Ran openIV, asimanager, installed openiv.asi. Jumped through the config about only mod'n files inside the mod folder. Package installer - installed gunsounds 2.6. Started game.

I didn't manually copy anything to the mods folder - openiv created the folder.
(my mods folder also isn't hidden - incase that can cause problems/relevant)
Not in a position atm to recreate the install/run it for a screenshot.
I'll try using the oiv installer then.

Oiv installation seemed to fix the issue, thanks! (even though mod author said oiv installation would crash your game and not manual, it was the other way around for me lol)
