GTA V crashing.
Hello, so I bought my GTA V a week ago but I have constant crashes for some reason since I play it. I'm playing for like 10/15 minutes and the game freezes and crashes.
Both GTA V and GTA Online are crashing.
I'm running PC with Intel Core i5-4690 3.50GHz, Graphics Card AMD Radeon R7 370, 8gb of ram.
I tried literally everything I found on google, typed Rockstar support, I did everything they told me (verify files, upgrade directx, video card drivers and MANY others) but in the end the result is always the same- the game crashes.
Please, help!

Your video card is terrible, very low-end. That's probably why your game is crashing.

I have a friend running it without a single crash with Nvidia Geforce GT610 so I don't think my video is terrible.

Try lowering your settings and resolution.
Vlad Jan 17, 2018 @ 5:35pm
I did, even with low graphics or safe mode the game crashes.

Try running with the performance monitor in the background.
Whatever's at 100% when it crashes could be the issue.

Also what OS are you on? I know 7 and 10 handle memory a little differently from one another.

Regardless, I've noticed the game runs like ♥♥♥♥ on AMD GPUs. One that would normally be a total upgrade from an Nvidia GPU for any other game can still run worse.

doesn't crash fer me yo.

Clean your PC. Run Malwarebytes. Get AdwCleaner and Junkware Removal Tool from bleepingcomputer.com/download/windows/ and run them.

I had issues with crashing like that, tried every fix I could find, and nothing worked until I cleaned my PC. So, maybe you can skip a lot of trial and error and get it solved right off the bat by just skipping to that step.

I'm using Windows 10.
@Ooga Thanks for the suggestion, I cleaned my PC, but sadly the game keeps crashing. I passed a heist and everything was ok for like an hour, but when I logged in later it crashed in 5 minutes. x(

The issue might just be your lack of RAM.
Right now I'm using 8.5gb while playing.

There is no fix for crashing.

Can't be. I have 8 as well. Idk why on earth his game is crashing.

Plenty of fixes for crashing... the real trick is being methodical about troubleshooting it. The joy of google and to some extent R* - they aren't too specific in how things need to happen, or... you could be looking at dated/irrelevant fixes.

Verify files - good. Upgrade gpu drivers, directx and others - not so good. If you only upgraded those things... I'd seriously suggest using DDU to safemode clean your gpu drivers and then reinstall them. As for directx, I've seen many instances of "upgrading"/installing directx not actually fix/replace anything - whereas manual removal of the files - and then installing yielded much better results. As for the questionable 8gb issue - programs in background, resolution, settings, and OS can all play a part of a possible full memory/pagefile swapping/crashes. What works for some on 8gb - isn't the same set of variables for others.

I'd run gtav - til it crashes. Close it out.
Hit windowskey+R - eventvwr.msc - custom view - administrative events. Sort by timestamp and look at the most recent 4-5 and look for ones relating to gtav. Those crash reports may very well point at some another file/conflict as well as give you an error code. Ex- Couple days ago someone was having "random" crashes related to gtav and it was an "issue" with steam overlay.
Gtav was fine, steam overlay was fine - the problem was within dx/gpu drivers.

I'd also open my documents / rockstar games / gtav / launcher.log - copy/post the contents too.

The error codes/crash reports would help in a good way to point at more things to test/check.

Its your ram maybe, definetly not your card since my old R7 250 ran GTA online just fine. This game is very demanding so try getting an extra stick of ram.

So, when it crashes there's a warning and an error.
The warning is: "Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered."
And the error: "Faulting application name: GTA5.exe, version: 1.0.1290.1, time stamp: 0x5a278c81
