Grass dithering/pixelated issue - HAVE FOUND A FIX
If you're not familiar with what this "pixelated grass issue" is, here are some pics:

https://imgur.com/a/oahh2Jz (best example)

Many players have reported having this issue including myself (for me was even worse than the pictures above), especially visible on Michael's fur grass and when raining. I've tried many things trying to fix this including reinstalling the drivers and the game itself, different grass settings and different methods of AA with no results at all.

This is how to fix it.

You're gonna need OpenIV for this. If you're not familiar with the tool please search the web for it and install it.

Open the program - Select your GTA 5 folder where your gta5.exe is located (for the people who are installing for the first time) and go to Tools -> Package Installer and select grass.oiv from the folder below and click install to mods folder. Done.

All credits go to _cp_ (one of the creators of VisualV mod)

Download link: https://www4.zippyshare.com/v/qGGxpkME/file.html

REMINDER: This fix is only for SinglePlayer, using modded .rpf file in online is strictly prohibited and can get you banned.

Is this some kind of ' advertising / promotion' for third party tool that game 'does not' require,
attached at the end is even a 'unknown or malicious' sharing url.

Don't know what's your problem exactly, i'm just trying to help the people to have this issue, i don't know what's so 'unknown or malicious' about an imgur link showing the problem and an zippyshare link that contains the .ovi file that you need to fix this problem using OpenIV, if you don't condone moding just stay out of it.

It's not really an "issue". it's an optimised way of rendering things, it has to dither things that are further away, otherwise all we'd get is complaints about performance.

i even forgot this thread existed lmao. i dont even play gta v anymore but, i don't think you can do it manually. the grass.ovi file is from VisualV and only messes with the grass texture so i don't think you'll have any problems installing it over your current mods

Not really. The reason dithering is used is because it needs to blend in low LOD models of various stuff, including grass. Also, the engine still uses deferred shading, which means dithering is required for proper transparency. If there was no dithering, you'd most likely see a very, very flat low LOD model of an object far away. It would obviously look super ugly, almost like a PS2 game basically. Dithering also makes it look ugly but it makes that low LOD model way less apparent. Dithering has nothing to do with optimization or framerate, at least in this game.

You might be able to manually insert it with 7zip. You can look at OIV files with 7zip. The grass.oiv contains a YTD and RPF file. You can easily cross reference the assembly.xml file, backup the original (or current files), then drag/drop the files in 7zip.

I just reinstalled LSPDFR again and the grass was an issue, but knew I had a fix somewhere. This post reminded me of the VisualV (Removed grass dithering + trees reflections) optional OIV file. I just installed NVE, so I'm gonna see if that has any dithering before I do the VisualV fix.

There's an easier fix.. don't use high/ultra grass settings.. :steamfacepalm:

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
