Can't be too sure. I wouldn't risk it if you have different/changed dll and ini files in the game folder. I personally have a USB wire for my controller (XBOX one controller).

Why do you need an emulator to play with a xbox 360 controler?

To emulate means that you emulate what is in the name.

i was using ds4windows with my ds4 and had many problems with disconnecting and sometimes not registering my controller at all. but i starting using steam's controller settings, it detects your controller and it's highly customizable, give a try, you won't be dissappointed.
if you have problem with or can't get it to work just google/youtube it.

It all depends. How are you emulating exactly? Give more details. If you need to put any .dll files in the actual GTA folder then Online will not load. You'll get an error, so you're not gonna get banned. If it's something that just emulates the x360 drivers without having to put any files in the game folders, then it's perfectly fine. If it's actually emulating then whatever software you're using should have it's own directory and not use game folders for anything.

I'm asking that because I use a first era 360 controler and I don't need an emulator

Depends on his os maybe. Maybe the drivers failed to install properly first time he used it or something.

Yes, if you have a 360, you dont need a 360 emulator.

You don't really need an emulator with an oficial xbox 360 controller
Leeric May 13, 2019 @ 6:53am
Your 360 controller should be plug in and play. It automatically downloads the driver when you plug it in. Pretty much all of them.

You dont need to emulate it, as others have stated.

Are you using a wireless controller? Is the charge cord connected to the pc? Is it wired? Wireless?

May or may not. Ppl playbwith ps controllers using similar means, but buying an official microsoft controller would be safest. 360 wired/wireless and xbone controllers work native with win 7+. Bluetooth xbone controllers work with win 10 easily.
