False 30 day suspension and character reset.

I received a message when logging in yesterday that my account would be banned for 30 days and my 400 hour character would be reset. They claim I violated the EULA, but i've never cheated, never used mods, never hacked, and never used an exploit that i'm aware of, and have in fact actively reported these things.

Since Rockstar loves false-bans and actually removed the option to contest it on their site, I submitted a ticket explaining this, along with providing pictures as proof I got to where I was playing legitimately to "trouble logging in". I got no response.

I emailed their corporate office and GTA Online's office with the above information as well. I also found a clause in their own EULA which is completely illegal (the right to ban an account without warning or reason given) on an account where you've paid real money, and actually ran this by a law student friend of mine who looked into it, and agreed it's an illegal practice, you have to let the person know why they are being banned in detail, not just allegedly breaking the EULA.

They also claimed i'd broken the rules and received a temporary ban and warning once before, which I never have, in two years of playing on PC and four years of playing on PS3 before that.


Is there any way to get a hold of them over the phone or something, because this is complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t.

That level in a meer 36 days playtime is sketchy at best. You say you have 400 hours playtime, your char has 900....

I thought they reset stats while in a ban? This is like the 3rd person that says they're banned but stats show still, odd. Guess they changed it after the March 18 banwave to preserve stats until ban is over then start fresh.

Sue them all you want, not goin to go anywhere as you agreed to have the account terminated literally for no reason with the rest of us.

it simply proves that 80% of their business happens on the consoles and pc is just a small side market.

People shouldn't stand up for R*, they sell you a game by showing you what you can do, the moment that game does not do that anymore it was misrepresented by the company and should be considered an unfair and deceptive practice. Without definitive proof that someone is cheating it should be considered a bait and switch, because that's what it is by definition. They bait you with all of the things you can do in game and switch it for a version that doesn't work because they aren't good enough to secure their game themselves. They can't or refuse to catch people actively cheating and ban people without concern of how things got that way. This practice should be outlawed since it is a very easy method of cheating people. Sell a product, accuse person of misuse without any evidence, make product stop functioning, deny refunds- and the cycle will repeat until people stop these companies. Could be R* putting out the mod programs to generate more cash and then banning people to generate more sells, their own moderators could be your problem modders that are never caught. I have no proof of this though, just like they have no proof of you cheating, clever scheme though.

your word means nothing, the action take on your account speaks volumes and no you can not appeal any ban, there is no phone number. in the future when your ban is lifted just get to know this link to avoid making the same mistakes.
