ERROR: Please run Grand Theft Auto V using PlayGTAV.exe

Whenever i try to start GTA 5 i get this error

then just go to playgtav.exe and launch it.. whats it do then?

where is this playgtav.exe ? it's not in my gtav v install folder, i pretty sure the steam version doesn't have one

Well maybe i can help i am having the same issue as the OP i have tried validating game files that did not work i also uninstalled and reinstalled still no luck everywhere on google suggests this is an issue with cracked/hacked versions of the game there is nothing on the legit steam version also if it helps at my stupid little brother tried to mod it and i am sure this started after that

HA HA WWWOOOOOO i fixed it i actualy fixed it so my issue was GTA5 dose not like MSI avterburner or RTSS being run at the same time i found a forum post talking about this so i shut them both down and GTA5 launched no problem.....execpt i reinstalled 2 time so now im back a square one with singleplayer but hey I CAN PLAY AGAIN!!!!!!! WWWWWWWWOOOOOOO'

i got that error but only after i set gta5.exe to run as admin, i changed again to normal and worked (win 10)
