Disk Write Error (cant delete dinput8.dll,menyoo.asi and scripthookv.dll)

My grand theft auto 5 wouldnt start after I installed a mod menu on single player, so after searching how to fix it I tried reinstalling it, but now it says its in the queue, and if i get it to start downloading it instantly stops and says disk write error, I checked in the game files and the only files that are left are dinput8.dll,menyoo.asi and scripthookv.dll. When I try to delete them it says they're being used, i've tried to look it up in so many different ways but I cant get it to work.

Restart computer and try, or go into windows safemode and try.
You should have zero issues deleting those files.

As for the disk write error - installing gtav shouldn't really complain about those files. Most likely permissions for that folder (which you can delete once those are gone), or the downloading/271590 folder where it is all sent to before being moved to that location. You could also try running steam as admin, before attempting to install gtav again.

Additionally, some security/av software can also interfere with folder/perms.
You can whitelist/exclude that location too.

In the future - you can clean the folder without redownloading it all...

also,just remove dinput8.dll that's what hooks the mods and you'll be fine

I tried restarting, and it now downloaded fine, but it crashes before I even get to the game, i click play, it launches and nothing happens, and then 5 minutes later it still says its running and then pops up saying "GTA 5 exited unexpectadly." and wont start

I deleted the dinput8 files and now it launches so i reinstalled them again fresh from the site and now its not starting again....

looks like you have an issue with script hook, you'll have to do without I guess
