Rockstar Games launcher not responding on startup.

I can't play GTAV because the game requires the launcher to run after the new update. It stops loading in and stops responding when I launch GTAV and when I launch the launcher from my desktop. Is there a way to play the game without the launcher, or is there a fix? I have tried reinstalling three times now, so that's probably not the issue. This is a brand new computer, so there's probably no software interfering with the launcher either.

I have tried everything in this thread, and multiple other methods. i have reinstalled both gta5 and rockstar launcher many times, but i still get stuck at "connecting to rockstar games services", where the launcher freezes and starts to not respond. i have also tried portforwarding different rockstar games ports, and it still is not working.

Welp, got it working. Did the following:

1) CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to open Task Manager and made sure no Rockstar Launcher related process was running (look for R* logo).
2) Went to C:\Program Files and renamed Rockstar Games to _Rockstar Games. (I didn't want to delete anything so I just renamed the folder to fool Steam and force launcher/SC re-installing).
3) Went to GTA game installation folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V and moved GTA5.exe, GTAVLauncher.exe and PlayGTAV.exe onto different drive to force some executable re-installing.
4) Verified game files via Steam (found three missing exes) and launched the game (automatically installed Launcher/SC)
5) Trevor goes hunting now.

so i tried this and then steam couldnt find the rockstar games file. what should i do with it? i did name it to _Rockstar Games and steam says it needs it but chant find it

I have tried everything that all the threads say but still nothing :( I've lost all hope at this point, so I literally can't play gta v at all or fivem too because I need this stupid launcher now and it does not work at all idk what to do.

Guys I had the same problem like everyone else with the Rockstar launcher loading then freezing, If you suck at computers and don't want to learn to dig through your files cause you swear you did everything you could and still don't work. You could Hard Factory reset your PC and download the Rockstar launcher and GTA V via Steam. This got it working for me. Which lead me to conclude that there was a file/program that breaks the launcher. I'm not sure, I'm not a computer guy. Just an honest gamer who loves to just plug and play... or in this case download, launch and play. But I Will strongly recommend only hard reseting your PC if you're super desperate to play GTA V and have already saved your data and written down everything important i.e accounts, passwords, favorite naughty websites... ;) Only reset your PC if you're prepared for that. That's like a serious desperate measure to do just to play 1 game. I just happen to pay that price cause I had free time and a stubborn motherf#$%ker. Anyways good luck to you guys!

I found the problem on why the launcher is acting like a ♥♥♥♥♥ and breaking . First uninstall the launcher and the Social Club. Then go to you Folder directory and look in the Documents folder under Downloads. You will see a Rockstar Games Folder with The Social Club, GTAV Launcher and Launcher in there. These folders are actually running in the background doing cloud saves and thats is whats causing the launcher to break. Delete the ENTIRE FOLDER. Reinstall the latest Rockstar Launcher and you should be good to go. I recommend turning of CLOUD SAVES on your PC for GTAV. For some reason it is breaking the launcher. I have verified this by installing it 5 different times. Hopefully this helps you out to get back online.

^Has been a common troubleshooting step for gtav since early 2015/2016 for cloudsync. Just too bad that when the launcher came out everyone and their mother had to slam down whiny crash complaints and bombard the discussions with 50 threads of the same issue instead of dogpiling 1.

No ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t, i use it myself and it actually works!

How to Install it;

1. Find GTA5 install directory.
2. Rename and replace old 'PlayGTAV.exe' with newly downloaded and unzipped 'No_GTAVLauncher.exe. Make sure you rename the mod 'PlayGTAV' or however its spelt in your directory.

Trying this, it opened the game and is verifying files now.
It allows the game to open, but just to tell me it cant find the social club launcher. reinstalling it reforces the old issue of not being able to connect to social club - hang.

I have the same problem now, my launcher is not responding. Trying to play the game from steam, does not work. Launcing both programs as admin does not work. I have re-installed the launcher a few times now. I have re-installed GTA 2 times now, i think im going to re-install it one more time. Right now when im writing this i am verfieing my game files via Steam.
