Don't be ridiculous.
Games developers and publishers run a business, paying their employees, paying taxes.
Switching to the distributor with the better profit margin is just a matter of surviving in the business.

Gaming has reached the mainstream years ago, and the market is getting saturated, if not to say flooded.
They crunched the numbers and realized that the Steam platform has lost its main advatage from a decade ago: to reach a huge audience, centralized at a single point of sale.

Yeah and Epic's games is cancer for the industry, but forcing people to use their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ launcher. No controller support, offline mode, shop cart and etc. And not to mention Making Third party Games exclusives !!! I've read that they paid 9.5 Mil to get Control on the Epic's games store. But once the money runs out, Epic will be just another disaster from the past.

Epic's games is not competing they're killing the industry with their shady practices. So don't go telling me that Third Party exclusives is a good thing. because its not !!!

Sony and Microsoft are taking 30% as well, and yet you see no one complaining about it.

Hey if you like Epic's Games so much, why don't you head to their forums instead. Oh wait...There isn't any ghehehe :P

I read it 3 times. Competition is good when its offered for a lower price on a different store. But all what Epic games is doing is locking games on a single store, without even giving the cosumers a option to buy it elsewhere. In fact they promised to sell it on their store for a lower price, but that's a big fat lie !!!

I have enough launchers installed on my system as it is. Origin, Uplay, Blizzard. Not really in the mood of adding another one. Espcially not one that has spyware.

As a consumer you have a choice, don't use a product and walk away,for those who want it let them use it.

And as far as another laucher, the game had a laucher since day one,people should stop over reacting

To be honest your android or apple phone has probably more spyware than rockstars launcher.

I just pointed out that no one is forcing the developers/publishers.
They're signing the contracts willingly.

Not having to pay 30% is definitely better for the developer.
And another online distributor is good for competition, especially since Valve have this huge market power.

Exclusivity is the only bad thing.

I'm just not the one that jumps on this stupid bandwagon, hysterically pointing the blame, and painting black and white.

Epic is aggressively using their recent influence from Fortnite to get into the market.
But still, that doesn't make Valve the impeccable saint.

If I won't get my refund, I'll do just that.
Otherwise I'll be more than happy to just delete it off my pc and add Rockstar to my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of other dev/publishers like them.

Isn't it sad? First Bethesda now Rockstar. The only AAA that isn't on my black list is CDP:R.

And i never said they were forcing developers to use Epic's games. But if you get a 9.5 mil upfront of course anyone would take that deal. But in the end its going to hurt us consumers. So if Epic's continues this road, i might as well stick to console instead.

Steam like any company wants to make money too. But Steam isn't the bad guy here. They've saved PC gaming from the brink of death. Sure they made mistakes. But they never did exclusive deals unlike Epic. Steam was and always be a open platform.
