Hollow Point/Armor Piercing Rounds vs NPCs?
I've seen several videos about the different ammo types and I'm convinced to diversify my loadout with different ammo types since we have quite a lot of MK IIs available to us.

My question is though, since I haven't found a video yet of this, but are Hollow Points and Armor Piercing Rounds just as effective against NPCs as they are against Players? I'm sure FJMs can deal extra damage to any sort of vehicle, chopper or aircraft along with piercing any BP windows, though HPs are for non-armored, while APs are for armored.

So would I be dealing extra damage to NPCs with vests with AP and extra damage to those without vests with HP? Or are they not worth the trouble at all to use against NPCs? (If the latter's the case, I'll definetly keep the Mark II MG to it's default ammo and use that as my over-all NPC killer ^^)

Hollow point and AP ammo are only good against players.

The real npc killer ammo is incindary because when on they drop to the floor and are stunned until fire is out or they die. Incindary (idk how to spell the fire ammo im sorry) do not work well versus players because we are not stunned or fall to the ground when on fire.

Ahh, yes. I was aware incendiary would help at that, since it does force them down to the ground ^^ Already have my Mark II Assault Rifle on incendiary. Though, I am still curious if HP and AP even do extra damage at all to NPCs.

Thanks for bringing incendiary up again though! Always knew that ammo was fun against NPCs.

Doesn't really matter since NPC's can tank plenty of bullets regardless of type unless you headshot them.

Incindary is great to use in the new heist. One hit and the npcs are easy targets for the rest of your heist team.

I love it.

I don't really understand why you'd bother? NPCs die in a single headshot from basically anything...

Does that work on the juggs as well?

Yeeaaah, just wanted to find more use for the other rounds since I don't really do much PvP. Its all fine now though ^^ Was just curious and all.

Not tested it yet. But I will.

I use in on a rifle. Good for shooting npcs when you only see an arm or leg and cant shoot them in the head. Setting them on fire will lighten up your day.

those rounds were made as a money drain. if you have multiple weapons with special ammo, soon you will notice that that ammo keeps disappearing really often. pretty much only heavy sniper is worth for changing ammo type. exp ammo for pvp/pve. + incendiary rounds got buffed and on heavy they ignite npcs 100%, so it's op in new heist. other weapons kinda waste of time and money.

Hollow Point against Vehicles, AP against players with heavy armor utility vest or helmet.

Against AI, use incendiary ammo, they freak out when catch on fire.
Explosive ammo against AI vehicles or player cars (Light armored to non-armored)

So far the only NPCs I've seen that take solid additional damage from AP rounds are the SercuroServ bodyguards you find in Headhunter and even then, it's only the ones that spawn in a stationary location instead of in a vehicle. AP rounds from a bullpup Mk2 rifle will kill one of them in eight shots to the chest while ordinary ammo from the exact same rifle can take upwards of 20 rounds to the chest from the same distance. Meanwhile the same NPCs riding in one of the armored vehicles don't show any signs of additional health or armor, so how this game handles NPC health and armor values seems completely arbitrary.

Another example to that are the NOOSE agents in the server farm setup for the Doomsday heist - Act 1. Half of them took far more punishment than the rest regardless of what models they were using. So the specialty ammo does have an effect but I personally can't find any solid visual cues on NPCs to show whether or not a specific ammo type would fair better, so that issue along with the low ammo pool keeps me from using HP and AP ammo on NPCs.

I think these ammo types are meant to be used as specialized munitions, only for intended targets/unique circumstances. I'd consider using an explosve sniper for evasive jets, or a dragon's breath shotty for pesky tanky enemies behind cover. Or perhaps FMJ rounds for rare situations where explosves are too risky/not an option.

If you want something general purpose, it only makes sense that you would use general-use ammo

Do the incendiary rounds also stunlock/paralyze the armored agents like the headhunter NPC's, NOOSE, armored NPC's lile juggernaut? :csgohelmet:

Unless you mean targeting the drivers of those vehicles, Hollow Point rounds in GTA and in real life are specifically designed to kill unarmored targets, anything flesh-based. Hollow Point does not work well against armor.

And what about Armor Piercing? How would it work against, say, Doomsday Heist Variants of Enemies?
