Can cars be saved on parking spaces by garages in GTA V?

I've been playing the story mode of GTA V and I've recently gotten the money for completing the big score. I've been buying and modding cars with this new cash, and I discovered that a car in Franklin's garage that I didn't want had teleported to a parking space near the garage after being parked on the street by said garage. It hasn't gone away after loading saves, either. So, will cars be saved on the parking lots?

I'm pretty sure even if you leave a car in your garage in single player there is a chance that it will just disappear for no reason. It happened to me all the time while playing through the single player. I wouldn't trust leaving a car outside the garage. If you do happen to lose one, go to the police station and approach the garage door, you will be prompted to retrieve lost vehicles for a nominal fee.
