I cant view my CD key for GTA 5

So i bought Grand Theft Auto 5 and it took me 3 days of uninstalling and re installing because when i got to 95% it would shut off my pc's wifi. I finally get to the activation code part and i go ok maybe i need that steam activation code. So i right click hit view cd key and i get a message on my first monitor saying "Steam was unable to verify ownership in order to request a product key. Please contact steam support." so i decided to uninstall the game then re install while im typing this. Then i try to view the cd key again while its reinstalling but it gave me the same message. If anyone can help me i would really appreciate it.

Steam should technically just be filling in that code for you. The forums here show a mouse icon by your name meaning it thinks you own it. Maybe the sales rush on the website is slogging down cdkey retrieval. If you just finished downloading - and then trying this - restart pc.

If anything- atleast exit steam, rightclick steam, run steam as admin.
Open my documents - RENAME rockstar games to rockstar games-old
Open steam/steamapps/common/gtav/installers - rightclick socialclubsetup - run as admin.
Then give gtav another try.

In some case you might be able to shift-tab to get a cdkey window.
Also be sure you are checking both autologin and save info for the social club login.

did you buy the game on steam or through a third party application like the rockstar website, amazon, best buy, ect.

I have the same thing, you guys can check my library its on there i dont know where the code is or where it might be
