Character Stats Altered After Changing Appearance
Today I tried out the "Change Appearance" feature added to GTA Online in the latest update. At first it could not finish and connect me to a lobby because my internet failed. So I restarted my modem and GTA and hopped back in the game. I chose the feature again, finished with it and again it failed to connect me to a lobby and kicked me back to Story Mode. I got back on GTA Online and it asked me if I want to change my character. I finally succeeded and got into an Invite Only lobby, but just as I spapwned in my Strenght, Lung Capacity and Stealth stats have significantly increased.

Is this a problem?

The way your character looks is reflected by the life/skills points you invest in. If you make a change in your characters appearance then its going to shift over some stat values to properly relect that kinda of lifestyle.

First of all, thank you for replying. I have been ignored everywhere else. I really care about my Online character and the progress I made so this is very frustrating to me.

I suppose what you said is true, however, not my case. I forgot to mention some things. This is a Rank 86 character transferred from Xbox over a year ago. And I also have not changed anything on the character, I just wanted to see the feature in action.

Also, this only boosted up these three skills. My Driving and Flying was maxed out before and it stayed that way. My Strenght had three bars filled, now it is maxed (So is Lung Capacity). Stealth only increased by one bar.

I seriously hope this is not an issue worth of a ban or deletion of my character.

So let me understand better, you didn't save any changes but the adjusted stats stayed anyways? Sounds weird but I don't see how this would be anything you should worry about. I'm not 100% sure but I think bans mostly happen when the anti-cheat flags you when it detects a mod making any changes to the game files.

I experienced the same, after editing my character, my Stealth Skill was full (before it was just slightly in the last bar) either it's a bug or a feature
To clarify, I have not made any changes to the character at all. I was in the "Change Appearance" menu but I did not change any physical attributes or skills of my character. What is also strange is that no money has been taken from my account despite the game telling me that the option to change appearance will take away 100000$ regardless of whether you make changes or not. Also, the game takes a mugshot of your character once you are done editing them. I tried to set the mugshot as a profile icon on the Social Club but it has not been updated yet. It looks as if the game simply forgot about this whole ordeal.

However, you have lifted a load off my heart. If this is truly nothing to worry about and no punishment will come out of this, I do not mind having my skills increased.
ShadowAngel, at least I am not alone then.

Yes, i also checked my lung capacity. It's now at 95%, i know for a fact that before i did the character appearance change it was no higher than 60%
I think it's a bug though, why would Rockstar bring this feature undocumented into the game?

"We can rebuild him, we have the technology."

While you were on the table, they gave you some cybernetics.

Yes. I am pretty sure it's a bug too. It would not make too much sense as a feature. But good to know I am not alone.
I'm cool with cybernetics, as long as Rockstar doesn't recognise them as hacks!
I would just like to ask, is it safe for me to play GTA Online? Or should I wait until this issue gets more notice (Whenever that may be...) and gets fixed?

I play online just fine.
You won't get banned for that, it's obviously a bug Rockstar oversaw
Thank you for your answer.
