GTA 5 ERR GFX D3D INIT error help!
I'm aware of the md5 hash method of trying to stop the gta 5 crashes. My crashes suck as my screen goes black while the game continues in the backround. After verifying the files of gta 5 using a MD5 checker, i've noticed four files that don't match the correct hash code for the game to work properly. When I delete them, they reinstall but remain corrupted with the same incorrect hash code. The files are gta5.exe, gta5launcher.exe, metadat.dat and GFSDK_ShadowLib.win64.dll

Does anyone know anyway to reinstall these files to make sure they match the correct hash codes? Will a complete reinstall fix this? If someone is generous can they please share those four files with me so that I can finally fix my game :)

https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/203958298--FIX-TO-HELP-PEOPLE-MD5-HASH-codes-of-all-GTA5-files

This link shows the correct codes for each file.

Already tried that didn't work and all the x64 codes are the exact same so i dont think the codes changed

Why would steam/gtav verify cache give you 4 different files than I? It isn't.
My functioning perfectly fine gtav install since... release-
GFSDK_shadowlib.win64.dll - d043c98ed424f6770ea800e77efcf561
gta5.exe - 505d6493b357b02538859888d6e1cd1e
gtavlauncher.exe - 86ecdc0b3bb5c41f092a1a520afbcdfd
There are 2 metadata so not putting that one.

As of the latest update - import/export - a few others are having similar issues.
This guy fixed his with these files-
http://steamcommunity.com/app/271590/discussions/0/152391995408998987/#c152391995410318157

Another guy - golden in that link - it didn't help - and some other "fixes" didn't work either.
He's also tried this - https://steamcommunity.com/app/271590/discussions/0/152391920351708083/#c152391995411942182

As well as downclocking the gpu, DDU'n drivers and using 2-3 older versions - still issues.

Btw dude I just saw some stuff on your page...

Faulting application name: GTA5.exe, version: 1.0.944.2, time stamp: 0x5847f2c1
Faulting module name: GTA5.exe, version: 1.0.944.2, time stamp: 0x5847f2c1
Exception code: 0x80000003

That's the error I get after my game crashes it's 0x80000003 do you know what to do for that exception code? I think you said something about usbs??
psykoteky Dec 19, 2016 @ 2:18pm
<----- 8000003 is both - the 255(ff) and c00005 - both links have instructions that have fixed it.
It isn't really nailed down.

Updated my previous post with 3 hashes also.

I did everything you said to do and I still got the err gfx d3d init error with the 0x80000003 error too WTF!
[-iD-] Dec 19, 2016 @ 4:22pm
i don't think there is a fix for this problem.
I had this problem for ages and then i updated to windows 10 and never saw it again.
psykoteky Dec 19, 2016 @ 4:30pm
Yea, like I said - it isn't really nailed down. Some are fixing it.. some aren't and - only god knows whats going on inbetween.. software.. drivers.. OS.. hardware.. temps.. etc. Examples like -iD- or the links above show that it is "fixable". The problem is finding the issue... short of doing a complete drive wipe/reinstall and being pretty strict in the reinstall/testing phase after that.

Do you think a reinstall of the game would fix it? Ive tried the usb thing already with no luck and the settings.xml. Btw thank you SO MUCH for all the help

I get this crash occasionally too no idea what causes it, some times it happens in as little as 10 - 15 minutes other times I can play for hours with no problem

the game? no, but a reinstall of windows might be in order.

I said a helluva alot more than usb and settings.xml. Vcredists, directx, gpu drivers, downclocking, software with overlays, software that controls your hardware - even "not" running it might not be enough and outright uninstalling it might be better. You'll need to do your best to strip down your OS startup and pull any/everything out to remove it all from the equation. Depending on how quick/experienced you are in such things - as stated above - a reinstall might be the faster, quicker, more reliable test. And even then - there is still no guarantee.

Maybe look into other options/tools that can remove/update directx files. Nothing you've posted shows exact errors - so still a hunt there.

Just to be clear this crash only happens when I'm doing anything related to jobs online. Whenever im freeroaming im crash free and can play for however long I want. A fix that seems to work is playing the game in windowed borderless but the performance is a little wierd and I would much rather play fullscreen. The first time the game crashes I get a crash to desktop and I get the gfx d3d init error. The next time I crash I get a black screen which I can't get out of. It is accompanied with a signal lost messaged and I am forced to hard reset my pc. Like I said borderless windowed seems to work but fullscreen has much better performance and is more smooth.

That's the exact error I get in the event logs. Btw I tried the direct x and vcredist thing too but with no luck. I have MSI afterburner installed but I make sure its closed in the task manager. Should I try uninstalling it?

I have 7 device losts when I run my functioning gtav.

Did you delete everything not a folder, and not a .rpf file in your gtav folder and verify cache?
I mean.. outside of that.. using DDU in safemode to strip drivers...
The possibility of using a tool to strip directx files and reinstall...
With the assumption that a normal uninstall/reinstall isn't working...
Did you try older drivers? Did you remove geforce exp?
There are a BUNCH of things to do to "attempt" to cover the bases...
You can't just take anything I say at face value/name only.

Pretty sure one of my links says to open msconfig / services tab.
Hide ms services - and disable everything left. Same for startup tab.

Then.. hardware issue... timings.. I mean.. no idea how involved/detailed you've been trying~
Hell, even if you crash - and you try again, you are potentially leaving the issue in memory- you'd be better off hard restarting pc IMO.

(Similar example - if I run minecraft with crazy shaders installed - close it, and then play gtav -
I lose 10-30fps - it doesn't matter - I HAVE to restart the pc and not run mc.)
