Help with GTA V Launch

Hi guys, I don't find this problem of mine on the internet but something similar.
Everything was going great, mods installed successfully, Etc.

Here's how my problem starts - When I click play on GTA V is launches, After that it shows me Social Club (Logs Me In but it also says that it didn't close well so it might have a few weird
behaviors), Click normal then the Social Club box disappears. It makes a sound of a notification (without showing me anything) while it's telling me that the game is running but it's not appearing.

Can anyone help me find a solution or help with this problem? Thanks!

Haven't done jacksquat to solve/fix this or use mods? Start with step 1.
Already uninstalled gtav/deleted the game folder? Don't care. Start with step 1.
New user with zero play time? Step 1.. you get the idea.
Yes, I can generally teamviewer - and having the below already done makes it easier -.-

1- Restart the entire computer~
Made any compatability/admin changes on the .exe's? Undo them - then -
Exit steam, rightclick steam, run steam as admin.
(the rest of step 1 WILL REMOVE all mods - if any - if done properly)

Steam GTAV - Open gtav folder. (rightclick gtav in steam- properties- local files- browse.)
Enable viewing of file extensions/ show hidden/protected files. (google if you don't know how)
Delete anything that is NOT a folder AND is NOT a .RPF file.
-OR- If it isn't in the screenshot below - DELETE IT.

VERIFY CACHE.
Try gtav.

2-Open my documents - RENAME rockstar games to rockstar games-old
(if using local saves and not cloud - your saves are here / gtav / profiles)
Open program files - delete rockstar games / social club folder.
Open program files x86 - delete rockstar games / social club folder.
Open steam/steamapps/common/gtav/installers - rightclick socialclubsetup - run as admin.
(it should install with NO errors/popups - if there are - say so and BE SPECIFIC)
(or look at social club errors on my profile)
Exit steam, rightclick steam, run steam as admin.
Try gtav.
When it asks local/cloud save - LOCAL for testing.
If gtav does NOT create mydocs/rockstar games... you create it. Inside of that.. also create "gta v" and "social club". Try gtav again.
In some cases - it MAY recreate them - but still cause problems.
Try manually creating them anyways.

(or should be - steam has been tinkering with these _commonredist locations)
----Open steam/steamapps/common/gtav/_commonredist/vcredist/2012-
Run both .exe's - and uninstall. Run both again and install.
Open steam/steamapps/common/gtav/_commonredist/directx/jun2010
(Or download both vcredist x86 and x64 here -----> CLICK ME [www.microsoft.com]

For directx - I would highly suggest you grab this .bat file and run it as admin.
It will move 90 directx files (2 locations - 180 files total) so you can guarantee clean files.

After you've moved them with my .bat - install directx from the next link - make sure to rightclick/run as admin. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
I suggest a pc restart afterwards.

Next - DO it, I don't care if all your other games work fine - Uninstall your gpu drivers/settings and reinstall them clean/fresh and rule it out. Control panel / installed programs and uninstall them though - (I suggest using DDU in windows safemode as quite often a normal uninstall/reinstall is not enough)

(if you have multi gpu - be sure you are using the correct one. laptops - check driver opts)
Also useful/important to test with older versions/downgrades. Especially important if geforce experience(gag)/you updated drivers, or new gpu installed + new drivers.
RESTART pc.
Try gtav.

4-Still crashing? Google adwcleaner from toolslib and run it to scan/clean your pc.
There are some known programs social club currently has issues with. There could be others.
(hidemyip, astril, safeIPs, and lavasoft softwares - you can also uninstall these)
Try gtav.
(If you have extra firewall/antivirus/security software - temp sleep/disable - it may interfere.)
Scan hdd(s) for errors too.

5-(Yes - there is NO guarantee the above instructions will fix the problem) - The purpose of the above steps is to fix common problems with gtav folder, social club, permissions.
If it still crashes/has issues-- post all 3.
1-Open my docs / rockstar games / gtav / launcher.log - copy it all and post it in your thread.
2-Open my docs / rockstar games / socialclub_launcher.log - copy it all and post it in your thread.
(if log 1 and 2 are NOT in those locations after testing - say so - there are other fixes for that)
3-Then start/run (winkey+R) - eventvwr.msc - custom views - admin events - sort by timestamp.
Find/copy/post the gtav related crash reports into your thread. (sometimes more than 1 per crash)
(some errors have their own links on my profile)

First of all, thank you for beeing so helpful and maintaining this thread!
I have followed all the steps you describe (true) but no luck...

Short intro: Win 8.1 i7-4770 16GB GTX1070
Have played GTA since last summer for 134h in total before it started to crash some weeks ago (app 10 minutes into the game session). It did crash last summer also but I followed an advice to go into advanced settings and give priority to background services and set the swap file to 8000MB, at that time I had only 8GB RAM - that stopped the crashes.
When it now started to crash again I went back and reset it back to priority for programs and let windows manage the swap file (5376MB). Now the story of the steps...

On step 1
No run as admin or compatibility on the files, starting steam as admin (always).
Deleted according to your screengrab and verified.
GTA stil crach after app 10 min of playing.

On step 2
No errors on install, play local.
GTA crash (app 10 min, in the shooting at the farm during the opening mission)
Folders where created

On step 3
Both uninstalled and then reinstalled, bat file executed, directx installed, restart, download and run DDU on Nvidia, cold restart.
GTA crash at same (time) location as previously.

On step 4
adwclean found some files (87 threats) and I removed them (dont know if hidemyip, astril, safeIPs, and lavasoft softwares where found by the tool), Norton Antivirus set in silent mode and auto-protect off.
Discs scanned with no errors found (c: and d:, disks where defraged before step 1)
GTA crash at same (time) location as previously.

I'd verify that storymode works fine for atleast 15-20 minutes. If you crash there - I'd change the OS language to english as a test - and try again. You could be experiencing an issue many others have had since Mar 27, however - has really only been linked to spanish from what I've seen.

If it does not crash in story, and only online - I have a c00005 link on my profile - and waaay at the bottom is also a link with online crashing. You mentioned Norton as well, and aside from disliking it and telling you to uninstall it and test without it.... regardless of the settings in it, I would be sure to add gtav and social club folder to whitelists/exclusions as assorted 3rd party AV/security in the past few months have been causing issues. If you do uninstall it to test, then you need to add gtav/social club folder to whitelist/exclusions in windows defender to cover that base too.

Success!!!

Installed US english and so far no crash. Completed the opening mission - no crash!
Coppied my acheivements from the old folder and tested going into a solo session online and roamed a bit - no crash!

So, not only a problem with Spanish then, also a problem with Swedish...

Let's hope there wont be more problems.

Haven't done jacksquat to solve/fix this or use mods? Start with step 1.
Already uninstalled gtav/deleted the game folder? Don't care. Start with step 1.
New user with zero play time? Step 1.. you get the idea.
Yes, I can generally teamviewer - and having the below already done makes it easier -.-

1- Restart the entire computer~
Made any compatability/admin changes on the .exe's? Undo them - then -
Exit steam, rightclick steam, run steam as admin.
(the rest of step 1 WILL REMOVE all mods - if any - if done properly)

Steam GTAV - Open gtav folder. (rightclick gtav in steam- properties- local files- browse.)
Enable viewing of file extensions/ show hidden/protected files. (google if you don't know how)
Delete anything that is NOT a folder AND is NOT a .RPF file.
-OR- If it isn't in the screenshot below - DELETE IT.

VERIFY CACHE.
Try gtav.

2-Open my documents - RENAME rockstar games to rockstar games-old
(if using local saves and not cloud - your saves are here / gtav / profiles)
Open program files - delete rockstar games / social club folder.
Open program files x86 - delete rockstar games / social club folder.
Open steam/steamapps/common/gtav/installers - rightclick socialclubsetup - run as admin.
(it should install with NO errors/popups - if there are - say so and BE SPECIFIC)
(or look at social club errors on my profile)
Exit steam, rightclick steam, run steam as admin.
Try gtav.
When it asks local/cloud save - LOCAL for testing.
If gtav does NOT create mydocs/rockstar games... you create it. Inside of that.. also create "gta v" and "social club". Try gtav again.
In some cases - it MAY recreate them - but still cause problems.
Try manually creating them anyways.

(or should be - steam has been tinkering with these _commonredist locations)
----Open steam/steamapps/common/gtav/_commonredist/vcredist/2012-
Run both .exe's - and uninstall. Run both again and install.
Open steam/steamapps/common/gtav/_commonredist/directx/jun2010
(Or download both vcredist x86 and x64 here -----> CLICK ME [www.microsoft.com]

For directx - I would highly suggest you grab this .bat file and run it as admin.
It will move 90 directx files (2 locations - 180 files total) so you can guarantee clean files.

After you've moved them with my .bat - install directx from the next link - make sure to rightclick/run as admin. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
I suggest a pc restart afterwards.

Next - DO it, I don't care if all your other games work fine - Uninstall your gpu drivers/settings and reinstall them clean/fresh and rule it out. Control panel / installed programs and uninstall them though - (I suggest using DDU in windows safemode as quite often a normal uninstall/reinstall is not enough)

(if you have multi gpu - be sure you are using the correct one. laptops - check driver opts)
Also useful/important to test with older versions/downgrades. Especially important if geforce experience(gag)/you updated drivers, or new gpu installed + new drivers.
RESTART pc.
Try gtav.

4-Still crashing? Google adwcleaner from toolslib and run it to scan/clean your pc.
There are some known programs social club currently has issues with. There could be others.
(hidemyip, astril, safeIPs, and lavasoft softwares - you can also uninstall these)
Try gtav.
(If you have extra firewall/antivirus/security software - temp sleep/disable - it may interfere.)
Scan hdd(s) for errors too.

5-(Yes - there is NO guarantee the above instructions will fix the problem) - The purpose of the above steps is to fix common problems with gtav folder, social club, permissions.
If it still crashes/has issues-- post all 3.
1-Open my docs / rockstar games / gtav / launcher.log - copy it all and post it in your thread.
2-Open my docs / rockstar games / socialclub_launcher.log - copy it all and post it in your thread.
(if log 1 and 2 are NOT in those locations after testing - say so - there are other fixes for that)
3-Then start/run (winkey+R) - eventvwr.msc - custom views - admin events - sort by timestamp.
Find/copy/post the gtav related crash reports into your thread. (sometimes more than 1 per crash)
(some errors have their own links on my profile)

I'm new on steam so idk how it works but this is by far the worst welcome i ever had, just got the game and it crashes by this ridiculous thing of "out of memory" and don't send me to another post cuz i've read and tried ALL, still nothing. i can give you the 3 files you want but i mostly like to do a teamviewer connection so you could helpe better, please help, i don't want to have the money threw away by this, it took too much effort to get the money for the game.

Haven't done jack squat to solve/fix this or use mods? Start with step 1.

Yes, I can generally TeamViewer - and having the below already done makes it easier -.-

1- Restart the entire computer~
Made any compatibility/admin changes on the .exe's? Undo them - then -
Exit steam, right-click steam, run steam as admin.
(the rest of step 1 WILL REMOVE all mods - if any - if done properly)

Steam GTAV - Open gtav folder. (right-click gtav in steam- properties- local files- browse.)
Enable viewing of file extensions/ show hidden/protected files. (google if you don't know how)
Delete anything that is NOT a folder AND is NOT a.RPF file.
-OR- If it isn't in the screenshot below - DELETE IT.

VERIFY CACHE.

2-Open my documents - RENAME rockstar games to rockstar games-old
(if using local saves and not cloud - your saves are here / gtav / profiles)
Open program files - delete rockstar games / social club folder.
Open program files x86 - delete rockstar games / social club folder.
Open steam/steamapps/common/gtav/installers - right-click socialclubsetup - run as admin.
(it should install with NO errors/popups - if there are - say so and BE SPECIFIC)
(or look at social club errors on my profile)
Exit steam, right-click steam, run steam as admin.
Try gtav.
When it asks local/cloud save - LOCAL for testing.
If gtav does NOT create my docs/rockstar games... you create it. Inside of that.. also create "GTA v" and "social club". Try gtav again.
In some cases - it MAY recreate them - but still, cause problems.
Try manually creating them anyway.

Run both .exe's - and uninstall. Run both again and install.
Open steam/steamapps/common/gtav/_commonredist/directx/jun2010

For DirectX - I would highly suggest you grab this .bat file and run it as admin.
It will move 90 DirectX files (2 locations - 180 files total) so you can guarantee clean files.

I suggest a pc restart afterward.

Next - DO it, I don't care if all your other games work fine - Uninstall your GPU drivers/settings and reinstall them clean/fresh and rule it out. Control panel / installed programs and uninstall them though - (I suggest using DDU in windows safe mode as quite often a normal uninstall/reinstall is not enough)

(if you have multi GPU - be sure you are using the correct one. laptops - check driver opts)
Also useful/important to test with older versions/downgrades. Especially important if GeForce experience(gag)/you updated drivers, or new GPU installed + new drivers.

4-Still crashing? Google adwcleaner from tools lib and run it to scan/clean your pc.
There are some known programs social club currently has issues with. There could be others.
(hidemyip, astral, safes, and Lavasoft software - you can also uninstall these)
Try gtav.
(If you have extra firewall/antivirus/security software - temp sleep/disable - it may interfere.)
Scan HDD(s) for errors too.

5-(Yes - there is NO guarantee the above instructions will fix the problem) - The purpose of the above steps is to fix common problems with gtav folder, social club, permissions.
If it still crashes/has issues-- post all 3.
1-Open my docs/rockstar games / gtav / launcher.log - copy it all and post it in your thread.
2-Open my docs/rockstar games / socialclub_launcher.log - copy it all and post it in your thread.
(if log 1 and 2 are NOT in those locations after testing - say so - there are other fixes for that)
3-Then start/run (winkey+R) - eventvwr.MSC - custom views - admin events - sort by timestamp.
Find/copy/post the gtav related crash reports into your thread. (sometimes more than 1 per crash)
