It would be nice if they just put following into the SP.
Guns
Cars and Bikes including Benny's customs
Garages to cater for the above
Boats including Yachts
Warstock updates
Hanger and Mobile Op to cater for the Warstock updates or put all new Warstock as Pegasus vehicles - This would more than likely compromise the Warstock update as it would require some work.
The reality is these won't happen, unless they do an enormous SP update before the release of the next GTA, to try and entice more sales as well as advertising the new game.
It's a real shame honestly, because in SP you have all this money and pretty much nothing to spend it on.
But one thing I can say with certainty, is that each release is a beta for the next one. Anything they didn't fix or do right this time around will more than likely be sorted in the next release. GTA IV to GTA V are great examples of this - GTA IV was a terrible, terrible console port, they made some patches and helped it along with the DLC release's but it's still pretty woeful even these days. They lacked variety in vehicles, as well as no way to customise vehicles. They teased us with the idea by having Brucie in the game and his workshop but meh... Plus the online play was rather useless after a 50 hours or so.
GTA V is quite a sturdy and a reasonably well optimized game.
It has an enormous variety of vehicles, plus you can customise them.
The online play has huge replayability, but unfortunately it's being hampered by large amounts of cheaters.
GTA VI will most likely include a whole lot more and hopefully, will be set in Vice City!
The opening of the hood and trunk came as part of the Benny's update, as that's where you get the lowriders and modified super/hyper cars from. It unfortunately didn't get included in SP, so yes you probably need a mod.
