Banned for Unknown Reason (own stupidity?)
So i have a question regarding GTA V online.

I will copy and paste my emails to their support so you can see what has happened and see if anyone has had a similar issue and if they have managed to resolve it.

I am not filling out a banning issue ticket as you just give an automated response and i want this investigated properly.

You banned me last night 09/10/17 for apparently breaching EULA or the terms.

Yes i can still play the single player but that is not the issue.

I was playing online and not doing anything untoward. Happily going about my business on an invite only session as i do not like to pvp as i got ganked on my very first time online and i wanted to build up my money and experience first.

I played 2 games against someone else which was picking up flags in a helicopter.

I had around 250k $ if i was lucky and most of that came from doing the mission jobs or robbing stores (ingame of course).

I didn't even own any property. Had a barely upgraded car and about 4 guns.

You banned me for 30 days without any reason given. I spent most of last night reading about this and it appears that you do this quite a lot.

To be fair i am not even that bothered about the charater but my time is something i do value.

So can you please explain exactly what it was that i did wrong?

You state in your terms that single player mods are not a violation and the only thing i do in single player is edit a save game file for money or use a trainer to give me god mode / reduce wanted levels so i can just play out the story as i enjoy the rpg element yet this is not against your rules.

I believe i may have left the trainer running when switching to online but it won't let you connect anyway so when that happened i just closed it down and restarted.

If this is what got me banned i apologise as it was not intentional and you can see by my history online i never exploited. 250k for 10+ hours time is hardly signs of cheating and no property i think you can tell i am not cheating.

Can you please help and explain what i have done?

Kind regards,

Alex

Hello Liquidraine,

Thank you for contacting Rockstar Support.

We have received your request for callback support. We are unable to provide support for this issue type via callback.

Your account is temporarily suspended from GTA Online. Your suspension expiration date is shown on the splash screen after being returned to Story Mode following an attempt to play online. In addition to being suspended, all GTA Online characters, progress and inventory on {PLATFORM} will be reset. Any funds purchased via Shark Cards have been preserved and are still available on your account.

The next infraction on your account will result in a permanent ban from GTA Online.

GTA Online bans are triggered by a number of factors, including modding in GTA Online, exploiting or abusing game mechanics, manipulating protected game data and code, or otherwise interfering with other players’ gameplay experience.

All GTA Online suspension and banning decisions are final and may not be appealed. For more information on the GTA Online Suspension and Ban Policy please see https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/articles/229514247.

Best regards,

Zach T.

to Rockstar
But what infraction? I didn't do anything so how can i get suspended for something i did not do?

You say that i modded game files or cheated etc. but i did not do that. Telling me i did 'something' but not specifying what is like accusing me of talking to a sheep at 11.30 on a Tuesday when you were 5000 miles away. You are just guessing.

I am asking what specifically i did wrong so that i know that it was wrong and do not do it again (whatever it was). I have read your EULA and terms and i have not done anything on that list.

If you do not help then fine i will just get my money back which is your loss not mine.

I have explained the only thing that may have caused this in my ticket but you can see i did not cheat or eploit anything online. How can you suspend a paying customer for something they have not done with no evidence and a response of 'you did something but we are not telling you what you did'?

=========================

I have read forums and noticed this is rife with Rockstar. I bought the game from Steam legit so fail to see what i did.

Anyone any suggestions?

if they don't find some mistake and unban themselves, it's pointless to create those tickets. they will just keep posting same default answer all over and over again. if you have patience and you actually did nothing you could try find their support phone numbers and contact like that. though most likely it wont help anyway;)

"I believe i may have left the trainer running when switching to online but it won't let you connect anyway so when that happened i just closed it down and restarted."

With that one sentence, you have actually admitted to modding the game and trying (even if not intended) to going online with a trainer (even if not successfull). So actually this thread is pointless and you got banned by breaking the EULA. Good Luck next time.

kk thx bye

see the thing is, anyone can just make up a story about why they got banned and yours is no different. They never uplift a ban unless they find on their system that the banwave was a mistake. And no matter what excuses you come up with they will never listen to them.

enjoy your ban

Yeah i use the Infinity trainer system (if you have heard of it?). I have played GTA V in the past and just like playing the story without having cops chasing me all the time.

I was reading online how to play GTA V online on my own so followed the instructions to create an online invite only session so switched from single player to online and got an 'unknown social club' error. I figured the trainer may be causing the issue as i didn't think it would work online (well i know it doesn't) so i just closed GTA V and the trainer then booted up GTA V again on its own and played.

If i am banned for that reason then fair enough as they can argue i may have had intentions of cheating but my gripe is simply that i did not cheat nor did i wish too because i was not able to even connect online so surely they can see that if they investigate?

I agree that they should have zero tolerance to actual cheaters online (one of the reasons i like to play on my own at the start is because i know the damage cheaters can have have on us newbies) and if i had cheated or tried to cheat then i accept the ban but not when i didn't do either, it seems unfair.

To add the Infinity system does not inject the codes to multiplayer on any game. I know this as i have left it running before with ME: Andromeda by mistake and i get killed, run out of ammo and get ganked.

Alas looks like i will just have to accept it albeit a little unfair.

see the thing is, rockstar has a broken anti cheat system what lets people cheat in game but bans innocent players.
If it happens to a lot of people at the same time they can make a lot of noise about it and get it over turned. When it happens randomly to odd people rockstar knows it can just ignore you.

There is a good chance after you wait your ban out and go back online you will be instantly permabanned. (If you broke/triggerd more then one of their rules they will stack them up and deal the punishment out when you next can log in)

Rockstar do not care about their customers.

Lots of people here will try to troll you and try get a negitive reaction from you.

bunty he admitted to having a trainer open while running the online portion of the game.
i don't think this was innocent even at your standards.

Yeah i admit i did but unknowingly so, i was ignorant to it and wasn't thinking about it. However, i was not able to get online whilst it was open thus when i attempted to go online it failed to connect and that is what my gripe is with. Even if i was going online with intentions of trying to cheat i could not do so and don't wish to do so.

I have played Warcraft for 10+ years and Star Wars for 3+ years and never once wanted to cheat on those and they are much harder than GTA V to get into as a new player so if i wanted to cheat to get into GTA V i think i would have tried it before on other games.

As stated though if i am banned for having the trainer active when i tried to go online then fair enough, i just wish they would say that in their response so i know that was what caused the issue in the first place and i won't let it happen when my ban expires. I am not even that bothered about the character because the completion of around 9 mission jobs, 4 store hold ups, 250k $ and a mediocre modded car is not much of a loss to be fair.

It's just annoying more than anything as i am currently sat on mobile broadband with 40gig monthly usage and i had to download the game over 2 months lol

uh no, trainers will crash your game if you go online with them still in the dir. it stops you from getting banned so i dont think it was the sp trainers
Alexander Oct 9, 2017 @ 11:05am
No idea what Infinity Trainer is but it's why you were banned.
They gave you a temp ban, be glad.

In the future you need to remove all single player mods from directory and don't run any trainers/cheat engine/etc. while online.

He is a bot. He doesn't read "I got banned" kind of post, he just copy/ paste his text and he would keeping doing it even when GTA5 online services will be down. X)

Infinity is not installed in the game directory as it is its own program installed in a totally seperate folder outside of Steam. My understanding of it is that it just injects code into a running game. If the game is not running then Infinity just sits idle.

Additionally the trainer did not crash the game, Social Club just sprang up an 'unknown error' when i connected. I guessed it was the trainer that did it so i closed both the game and the trainer and restarted the game on its own and it connected without any issue.

The only editing i have ever done is using a single player editor to change in game money, cars and statistics.

I can link the sites where i got them but unsure if i am allowed on these forums.

However the edited files are located in c\users\name\documents\rockstar... and usually named SGTA50015 or something similar but as far as i am aware those particular files are not used by the multiplayer.

The only other thing i have ever done is used my own music by placing MP3's in one of the social club folders for use with Self Radio but i thought this was allowed.

I have tried a few more times raising tickets but they respond with the same thing every time and also very quickly which suggests they don't even read the ticket at all.

Steam cannot do anything as they told me even if they issued a new game it would be the same CD key which means the only thing i can do is get a new Steam account and buy the game again.

It just seems such overkill for something i legit had no intention of ever doing and is really killing my enjoyment of their game. However, as stated if it was me being a muppet and running the trainer whilst attempting to connect online i can understand their decision i just wish they would say that is what it was rather than just pointing at the EULA and being vague.

It's a program from a community called WeMod (Google).

I'll take your advice though, i admit if it was that program that caused it is my own stupid fault for not thinking before attempting to play online.
