GTA 5 20fps
So I bought gta 5, opened it, and I get 20 fps on medium..
My specs:
Intel core i7-7700HQ CPU @2,80 HZ
8GB Ram
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050.

How do I only get 20 fps? I thought I would get atleast 60 on high... Explain please

Also, disable everything on advanced settings, MSAA OFF and MSAA reflections OFF too, else, you gonna get wrecked in FPSs

MSAA kills my FPSs on my rig with GTX1070, dont use it, also make sure you have Frame Scaling mode on advanced graphics, to off, dont use it, your GPU cant handle it.

maybe gtav is not using your gpu at all, check on nvidia settings and make sure your monitor is connected to the GPU and not the mainboard.

Check your nvidia settings to make sure it's set to use dedicated gpu adn not igpu. Also, depending on model laptop you have, you may have another app that sets gpu per what's running. Alienware was always notorious about making even 3d apps run on igpu.

And as others said, you're going to be playing on medium settings mostly depending on how sensitive you are about framerates/if you have external monitor etc hooked in.
