Grand Theft Auto V Legacy

Grand Theft Auto V Legacy

Statistiche:
I'm worried about GTA V's longevity
As much as I LOVE playing Grand Theft Auto V ever since it came out, as of the release of Smuggler's Run DLC, I'm starting to become very worried about the game's longevity in the near future, as more and more people keep on hating both GTA Online, and GTA V as a whole, primarily because it has to do with the use of 'Shark Cards', and Rockstar's clandestine (often ludicrous) corporate business decisions.

Not defending the game in any way, shape or form, but when will the user reviews ever recover? I totally understand why they protested the game with blood red, demonic negative reviews when Take-Two Interactive temporarily banned SP modding, but even now and then, I still keep on seeing more negative reveiws than there were positive ones. No wonder why GTA V's overall reviews have devolved to 'Mixed'.

As an SP modder, despite the fact that Script Hook V hasn't been updated for the new DLC yet, since the Hunter's return to GTA V, it has great potential for being used in wanted levels, for my copy of the game, exclusively at five stars, since the Hunter is an attack helicopter based on the AH-64 Apache, with some elements of the now-cancelled Comanche helicopter. However, despite the fact that Hunter has great potential as the replacement for the Savage (a Hind-inspired helicopter introduced in Heists), I have dealt with two anti-Smuggler's Run and anti-GTA V ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s on YouTube, saying that 'it is worse [than Gunrunning]...', and even one user called me a '♥♥♥♥♥♥' for being a 'novice modder', which is straight on dumb bullcrap.

I know that GTA V used to be really good, and now it has been going downhill pretty quickly, nowadays, but all of these hyperbolic 'negative reviews', Smuggler's Run hate and the 'Hunter is so underpowered and sh***y; worse heli ever!' bullcrap, does not reflect how GTA V needs to be overhauled and improved upon, and Rockstar couldn't even give two sh*ts about fixing the hacker issue in Online. I almost forgot to mention that Online is so grindy to the point of being virtually unplayable even for beginners. Now, it is safe to say that GTA V will most likely phase out of store shelves in... I dunno, the next year or two? Nobody knows when, but GTA V is getting closer to being as dead as the infamous 1983 E.T. game, or Bubsy 3D.

These were my personal worries I have for GTA V, but hey, it's Rockstar's responsibility, so what're you gonna do about it? I deeply apologize for posting this, since this is such a depressing thread explaining my personal worries. Whatever you do, whenever you do, make GTA great again!

UPDATE: Script Hook V has now finally been updated for Smuggler's Run DLC.

The game is not dying, its the whiners who have to have everything but wont work for the ingame cash or buy shark cards who are complaining. I have over 40mill in game, all the toys I want, and since smugglers was all aircraft based, this dlc was a dud for me. I wont be buying more then 1 or 2 of the new aircraft as I do not enjoy the flying aspect of the game.

It is really easy to make money in this game, I work a 40hr week and still find time to log in an hour or so each night to keep my business going until i can log in longer and sell the stuff.

This game is only a grind if you make it so.

I understand what you're saying. Some people will have much better time with in-game money than others.

Ah all those tears to talk about a hunter that wasnt officially released to customize. Another ♥♥♥♥♥♥ crying about things they can do or not with mods that arent supported
Okay, listen, just because Script Hook V hasn't been updated for the new DLC yet, doesn't mean I'm crying about jack sh*t, kiddo. It requires me patience for it to be updated.

No doubt gta online receives a lot of flak nowadays, it actually deserves it and nothing is made up by its community, however as much as they cursed it they cannot stop playing it , sadly they end up grinding a long time until they give into buying the shark cards , its current user base is very healthy which means R* has nothing to worry and continue going on like this

Who cares what the community has to say , right ? Let the community tank the reviews but we are continuously making money and sadly money is what matters the most here .....

Personally i moved on and stopped playing long time ago when i saw through the superfluous DLCs , enjoyed playing with friends though but they have also moved on , nobody even talks about the story mode lol
GTA V and GTA Online have been out for 4 years now, I think they have already suceeded "longevity" wise.

I can't think of another $60 game that was in the top 10 selling games on almost all platforms every month since the day it came out; they probably couldn't predict its success, and how long they were going to support the online portion of the game, so it could die right now and it wouldn't be a problem for neither the developpers or the fans, who are ready for something entirely new, GTA VI.
Rock star only give a damn about modders when it affects $$$$$. You can troll entire lobbys, crash peoples clients. Anything! but give people money which will mean they dont have to buy shark cards and rockstar then step in.

The game would be amazing if it wernt for the hackers. I'm tired of having to find a new session every time i play due to some modder.
The longevity is simply a matter of economics / profitability / bottom line. The fact there seemed to be an increase / uptick in DLC this spring and summer shows that there seems to be a profit margin there, by releasing free DLC they still are getting sales, and people buying shark cards. Simple as that. I may be wrong, as I don't read every release note, but to my knowledge there have been no actual "updates" as far as coding, just DLC. Which means they probably have minimil staff using the tools to just add new content and missions.

I'm quite sure their accountants are watching the bottom line, and once they start showing minimal return for investment, DLC will stop.

The other factor will be the alleged GTA6. If, when, that is released, there will be a corporate shift to move the players/profit base over to the new version, and GTAO DLC will definitely be discountined at that point, and the smart corporate move at that point would be to allow GTAO for 5 to conintue until that hits a negative return.
current and constant top 5 most played game on steam since release, never left the first page of top selling games, massive and frequent online DLCs, over 75k people playing right this second.....

yup, sounds like its gonna die just about any day now herrrrr derrrp

Gotta hate when facts dont fit your personal narrative.
I don't "hate" the game personally, that word is tossed around too much and it loses all meaning. I however am quite bored of it. No real content added aside from more pointless businesses and super expensive trinkets. Lots of stuff to spend money on, but making money in any reasonable amount of time is nerfed in every possible way (and yes, it's in order to promote shark card sales)
GTA Online likely only has a year left go on it before they abandon making updates for it. What will likely happen is the team that's making these updates will move over to making updates for RDR 2's online, and they'l leave behind a skeleton crew to create events and so forth. But likely wont see anymore major releases.
My God! Kids will loose their purpose of life - playing GTA! What a shocking moment it will be!

I'm not defending the game in any way, but there were too many underaged children playing Online right now, and I'm not one of them; I'm only 19-years old.
If they dont seriously start to focus on balance.... the game will keep getting a worse and worse name

I feel you.

The current gta is an experiment. Grew too big too fast and made R* a ton of cash. As long as this cow milk cash R* is happy.

Hunter? Depends on how we can modify it. Dependent on co-pilot?

Next dlc? Bikers 2? To get us back on the roads?

Time will show...

DLC costs game money, not real money. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with no patience buy Shark Cards.

Activision and EA Games are the money sluts. R* at least does it right. Making money off the dumb asses and giving DLC for free.

What they need to do is seperate the English speakers from the rest.

Giving DLC for free would be nice but they are not giving they are pushing it. We have no choise to download it or not. I would still like gta online if i had the choise to play a older session version without the last 2 DLC's.
