GTA V Ultra Settings on AMD FX 9590 and NVidia GeForce 970
Forgive the duplicate thread, but I need the communities help. I have a high-end gaming rig, with an 8-core processor, 32 GB DDR 3 RAM, and an NVidia 970 GTX 4 GB (3.5 GB) video card. Every time I boot up GTA V on Steam, it locks up randomly. The whole system just freezes, and I have to do a hard reset, via the reset button. I have played with the graphical settings until I am blue in the face, and it still locks up. Texture sizes, population density, anti-aliasing, v-sync, etc., and depending on what is toggled or not, it still locks up. I have closed out any TSR's, Steam Overlay, and other background programs, no help. Other games (many of them newer) work great at max settings. Four-year old GTA V, conks out. Sent a ticket into Rockstar, and got a canned answer of background programs. Thoughts, documented issue with 970 GPU causing problem, workarounds/graphic settings used by community?

I had similar issue with my pc, but it locked up on any game witch I been playing it.
And after troubleshooting I fund out that it was wifi network card causing issues, and some how interfering with my GPU.
After removing it the problem was solved.
what does the gtav log show as the problem.
what do windows logs show as the problem.
I am just playing the single-player campaign, if that helps.

Are all your drivers up to date?
FX 9590 one of this factory heaters? Seriously if anything I would blame that oudated crap it heats like ♥♥♥♥. Beside thats all specs are fine you shouldn't have the problem in hardware (beside overheating - gta can be cpu taxing game)
