Can't get sound through USB headphones
I have two playback devices on my PC: the speakers integrated in my monitor (which gets the audio signal through HDMI) and wireless Logitech G930 headphones (which are connected with a USB dongle). I can't get the sound to play through the headphones.

I have this problem quite frequently, but a reboot tends to fix it. But not today. 3 reboots later, and still no sound.

GTA V does play sound through the monitor, but not the headset. The headset does work. I tested it with youtube videos as well as a few other steam games.

Please help.

This game doesn't play well with USB audio devices... or most usb devices in general.

True. The sound partially goes out at times, and frequently causes feedback issues.

I have over 40 hours invested into the game, most with the USB headset. So, it does work.

Thats weird, I spend almost all my hours on GTAV with my Logitech headset but wired USB. The difference is I just set on Windows wich device to use for sound in genera, before launch the game and it works all the time.

Yup, that's what I usually do as well, change the playback device before launching the game. But for some reason that's not working.

Have you tried verifying your Logitech headset's drivers?

Just updated the drivers, still no luck.

I would check your Headsed is still avaliable nad not just a similar icon. I had issues with my PC sometimes dont recognize oneof the devices despite I pick it for default, and it is because it randomly decided to disable it and enable a different one that I never used but shares the same icon.

But if your only losing the sound on GTAV, that is weird, ingame you have options to change the audio but it dosent wok unless is windowed, I think.

I've been meaning to move GTA V to my SSD drive, so I deleted local content and redownloaded. That actually ended up fixing the issue.

But, I am tired of dealing with the G930, so I just bought Senheiser G4ME ONE. No more dealing with USB audio, and they sound so damn nice.

I have to set the G930 as the default, then restart the computer, then it works, sound isn't able to be very loud as it has one level, controls on it doesn't work either. The dongle is placed near the front port so it is inline with the reciever.

If you get sound if you watch youtube? Or do you get sound everywhere but the game?

Dont know if you have figured it out by now but i just did i as well had a usb wired headset and a separate speaker but the audio was playing through the speaker when i wanted it through the headset and what i usually do is change the default device b4 i want to do something this time it didn't work so i just disabled the speakers and the game was just forced to play through the speakers hope it helps a year later

I don't remember how I dealt with the issue to be honest with you. And since, I've switched to a pair if regular wired headphones anyway.
