1-Your HDD might have a bad sector
2-Your os is corrupted or you are using windows 10
3-This sound might be weird but if you have pluged in a usb storage it might cause the issue.
4-You didnt give full permission to GTA V see this " Cloud Save Beta Access Queried: No Access"
4 - is it blocked in the firewall? That might explain why the "modded" version works and this one not.
Nice speculation, I suggest you learn to read error logs before saying what comes to mind.
The GPU driver is crashing.
if you have a idea then let it out by words except saying only "gpu driver is crashing".
Good night.
I pinpointed the problem, you threw speculation, he needs proper help not from wannabes.
Not to mention I'm not a miracle worker, I simple gave him the best answer considering the information he gave.
Definitely using Windows 10.
Gave GTA V full permissions and it crashed faster than ever.
System Stats:
MSI Gaming 5 motherboard
i7-4790k CPU
ASUS GTX1070 GPU

CCleaner
Mentioning USB storage being the issue isn't weird to me because you're far from the first to suggest it. I have 2 things plugged in to my USB ports. A mouse and a keyboard.
Edit: DDU
What have you done since then?
Your last post (April2016) implies you were going to reload the hdd/OS clean. If you HAVE since formatted and clean installed your OS/drivers - forgive me for the other repeated questions/steps below. HOWEVER, some could still be valid - it has been 8+ months.
There was also a question about ESET running - was it reinstalled? Have you uninstalled it to test? How about any other 3rd party AV/firewall/security/network related software? Have you run any other software like malwarebytes antimalware or adwcleaner to scan/clean your pc since?
The fact that you can mod the game - and it runs fine... and doesn't run in a vanilla state - also sort of leads the first step back to social club and its required software. Mostly because proper mod'n will technically not overly use social club for communications.
And- I can assume from your post that a vanilla copy of the game "will work" after you've done a pile of diagnostics - elaborate? You've listed hdd, and memory checks - what else? What order? Were they each done once at a time as suggested with a gtav test inbetween?
There was also no posting of eventviewer crash reports. Those can sometimes point directly to a conflicting file/.dll or program. And, your initial post was in Nov2015- many updates since then - especially in the realm of what gives what error.
You also say you've deleted and reinstalled all your drivers. Have you gone through and disabled any unnecessary device needed to play? Any additional software devices like nvidia HD audio? Virtual audio cable and other webcam drivers come to mind as well. Know that- the act of simply updating a driver doesn't mean its 100% compatible. There is even 1 external soundcard that will crash the game if you have the mic enabled. I would narrow it down as much as possible.
Preferably, by posting the event viewer crash reports related to the gtav crashes-
Then opening msconfig, services tab. Hide MS services - disable everything else.
Then to the startup tab, or task manager startup tab - disable everything.
(you obviously need to restart the pc after disabling all these)
Then onto devicemanager and disabling unecessary devices and work from there.
This link may also be of some use - from my experience it covers most 255's-
(and any I've personally dealt with) - 255(ff)
Hell, I'd do a sfc /scannow just for giggles.
Disabled ESET security. Still crashed. Will try uninstalling, trying the game, and reinstalling.
No third party software I'm aware of and have not run malwarebytes, antimalware, or adwcleaner.
Probably worth doing a clean OS again since its been so long.
Have not recently disabled devices but I did try that once in the past.
I've never had a mic or external sound board installed on this computer.
Would have to document my process of tests and trying inbetween to provide further information in that reguard. I have had no set way of doing it and would just run some tests in no particular order and then attempt to launch game. I'll document that proccess and include it later.

If it does start working with ESET uninstalled (wouldn't be surprised).. After you reinstall it -
I'd attempt to configure it to exclude gtav/social club files/folder and communications.
It's worth mentioning that this issue has been reported before and there has never been a real solution.
Did this and turned off printers and unnecessary audio. Still crashed.
