Gta v not using gpu 100% [SOLVED]
specs:
ryzen r5 1500x
xfx rx580 8gb gts
8gb ram
i play on 1280x1024 4:3 resolution
i tried to play at high settings 2x msaa and i get 40 fps average and i get 27 fps while driving
i used msi afterburner to see the gpu and cpu usage
cpu is at 45% most of the time and the gpu is just 38%
its weird because its a new pc that i built.

if thats the case i think i might request a refund ;(

I just asked for a refund because this game is unplayable for me. My computer can handle other games easily with minimum settings but it struggles to play this game. Even though I have 8 GB of ram and 2 GB of video ram then I am limited to only the 2 GB of video ram. I have issues with the textures not loading and I am driving without being able to see where I am headed. Ask for a refund if you are not able to play this game. I beat this game already on my Xbox 360 and I only bought this for the PC for the online play but I can't even play online with my graphics issues. I should've never bought this game and I only hope I can get a refund.

Took you 9.2 hours to realize it won't run on your crap GPU? LOL
Doubt you'll get a refund.

You'll get banned anytime soon anyway so the problem takes care of itself

I did think of something...

With the latest nvidia drivers you'd have to set performance mode to maximum performance. Maybe some option like that in the AMD control panel as well?

There was also something about core parking for CPU mentioned somewhere on the forums, might take a look at that as well.

It's not supposed to. You wouldn't want your GPU fully utilized because that means you're pushing it to it's utter limits and ergo, performance will actually suffer.

The game will utilize as much GPU time as it needs, if it's available.Utilization % is a meaningless # that changes depending on the rest of the hardware. Worry about the actual performance.

Turn MSAA off, it eats performance. Turn off high detail gress and long shadows as well

Never get AMD. Always Intel and Nvidia. There's a reason why Intel and Nvidia are more expensive in general, because they work flawlessly out of the box whereas with AMD you have to deal with a lot of problems.

unhelpful fanboy e-peen swinging post is very unhelpful. His "problem" has nothing to do with the hadware, which is quite a good bit of kit actually. The "problem" is his expectations which are inaccurate.

I've just spent 10 hours trying to get it to run properly on my nVidia 1060 6GB and Intel i5. It doesn't help that the settings so often need the whole game to restart. If you have a second monitor (or even if not) try using HWiNFO to set up some graphs so you can see what's going on a bit better. What was especially interesting for me was to see that HD activity (set up as total activity on the graph) went to 100% at some points and stayed there, especially after a while of driving when it was trying to load in more textures, and then the game started stuttering badly. I have a striped 2 disk raid array as well. However, I eventually realised that MFAA (in the driver) wasn't compatible with TXAA, neither of which apply to AMD stuff. This seemed to be limiting me to 30FPS artificially and causing the HD problems, so I suspect some kind of interupt storm. I also had to stop forcing VSync in the driver and up the max pre-rendered frames above 1 (also in the driver.) However, once I'd got that sorted I can run with all options maxed out at ~50FPS. So perservere. The game seems temeperemental with certain options. My last card was an AMD, and I've had many processors from them too. I got the GPU to see how they compared, and it was really solid. The older CPUs got a bad rep but TBH they weren't actually much worse than the Intel ones. Whenever you ask for help it seems there's loads of people come out to troll and tell you rubbish, but very few who will actually help. Once you figure out how to set things up in game you should be golden. Your system is awesome! :) I doubt you need to ask for a refund.

PS I also have a 1280X1024 monitor!!! :D Caused some problems with lockpicking in Fallout 4 and in Overwatch, but apart from that it's been fine.

PPS If you've just set up your system, maybe it's worth checking everything is properly set up. Although windows 10 seems to do a good job of using default drivers, in the past chipset drivers have been critical to good graphics performance.

i turned everything to normal and no msaa and i get 70 fps average and while driving 50 fps.
