This games multiplayer networking system is pathetic. Ridiculous load times, constant connection losses, why???
I have no idea, but it's something you can eliminate on your end.
If a static host is already configured as the DMZ then port blocking should NOT be an issue unless there's a firewall elsewhere that might be blocking connections. DMZ SHOULD work with a preferred DHCP table assigned IP, but most devices specific that static is required.
This is an issue with R* due to heavy traffic, it's nothing new! Unless you guys wanna explain how the game was working correctly for this users until recently.
There was also a patch recently that may explain some of the problems! Over here is working correctly, but I got the patch fine when it was launched around 2/3 days ago.
It's nowhere near as risky as you want to think, esp if you are using firewall software, like you know, what's included in literally every router and copy of Windows. All it does is allow the ports to route, that doesn't necessarily mean anything is listening or will do anything with an incoming connection.
