RP rank broken?

I am somewhere around level 150 on gta online but i got disconnected from a session with a notice saying my rp has changed and when i rejoin i now am level 2017, did somebody hack me? Am I in trouble?

Happened to me too but no message nor disonnection.
I was around Lv52 and suddenly became Lv 464!
Lost no money and I played no mission when this happened.


Checking right know how to undo this but did not find a solution (yet).
Even https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/community/topics/200063373-Grand-Theft-Auto-Online is packed with "cheat victims" but no hint how to undo this cheat-based unwanted "feature". Some even say you can get banned (Game Ban) as "cheat victim" in GTA5...

P2P system does not work nowadays in multiplayer games.
Why Devs won't see that? The cheats will always win this P2P-Fight.

Opened a support ticket and the message says it will take 2-3 days before I get a reply.
Let's see what happens next...

Open a Ticket on the Supportpage from Rockstar and describe your Problem to them. They are the only ones Who can help you in such matters.

The next day I received an answer from Rockstar support:

We are aware of a new method where cheaters are manipulating the Rank and in-game funds of other players on the previous generation consoles (PS3 and Xbox 360) and PC in GTA Online. We are actively working on a fix for this issue, and may temporarily disable some minor game features while we work on a resolution. Please check back on this article for updates.

2 days later I still have the unwanted pushed Level 464!
Now people start to call me cheat.

Guess I should avoid GTA Online for a while...

We all know.
But this is not going to help clean players and after all a statement that NO ONE can help!?!

Pretty much. Its not even worth it to send it to Rockstar at this point. Just record and make a note of it (just in case) for later, if/when they update that article. And I dont think everyone knows, people ask the dumbest questions around here sometimes lol. So I was just adding to your post to help those people.

I had my rank set to 1 yesterday, I submitted a ticket and they restored it to not 138 where I was but 139, which is fine. But then like 10 min after it was fixed, it happened again, this time they added money while removing my rank. Reopened the resolved ticket and they fixed it again but left the money. I heard they fixed the "drain" money hack, but they can still add. What I did was put all my money in "cash" on a new second character, and keep it out of the bank. That solved the money drain issue, but rank adjustment is still active. Take screenshots of your rank/money now! Just in case you need it later.

But I guess this long winded post's point was, they DO respond and will fix it, might have to resubmit tickets or reopen them.

Hope they fix this "issue". Game is great and would be sad if another brilliant MP game gets destroyed by cheat-downloaders.
Well, actually the P2P system won’t give hope since they can’t win this unfair fight when you let cheaters rule the game acting as host for clean players.

That might not actually be Rockstar. Could be the result of said hack. Did they respond to the ticket?

Oddly enough I dont have cheaters coming after me with this new stuff, at least recently since the curret stuff started up. But I know it happens to a lot of people.

Two steam friends just told me that since yesterday both lost their RP (back to Lv 1) and all of their money is gone. Interestingly, one said he had about 650 000 and parted it half in half at the bank and in cash = all gone.


Ergo:
Trust your luck and accept the fact that you might find yourself back on Lv1 with no money anytime or avoid GTA online untill they find a fix / solution / Reverse-Option for cheat-victims.

So your friend is back on his old level? NOT completely downgraded to Level 1?

Did he get any information from Rockstar Support about that reset?
Many user say their rank was repaired but they are talking about a complete reset back to Lv1 (which is most likely done by cheats and not the Dev's).

If Rockstar support correct your profile and user stats you would most likely get an automated answer about those changes.
Very unlikely that individual SC accounts are corrected or reseted by Dev's and the user gets no information at all from official side. At least for Rockstar that would be very very untypical action.
