many people already did a dude character run, so it was time for a new one(girl).
about 5% of the gamers are females, but if you look online you will see a lot more female characters, which means they are mostly dudes.
also some people doesnt like to stare at a dudes ass, instead they create a female character.
a gta/or any other character doesnt really have to represent the "real life me"
for example some people do a psycho clown roleplay
I wouldn't doubt that most people with female characters are actually male, but not all of them.
In fact, women are more aggressive in online environments when they aren't surrounded by men than men are. A bunch of the men in the hills and hydra pilots I've met were female.
But alas, no way to check this, unless we all start running stat charts. Plus there's the age old "If I'm gonna be staring at an ass for 1K hours, it better be a female ass" argument and the fact that a bunch of us run female second chars because... What's the point in running two dudes, I guess.
