how to create keyboard shortcut to suspend process

OK, so say you're playing online, and the server is just full of annoying players that are constantly getting in your way of getting your tasks complete. There is a thread on here, that shows how to suspend your network process, to simluate connection problems, and thus, get an empty server.

Well, follow these steps to turn it into a keystroke.

Step 1, download and extract PSTools from Microsoft. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/pssuspend.aspx
Step 2 Create a batch file, something like this:

pssuspend.exe gta5.exe
timeout /t 10 /nobreak
pssuspend -r gta5.exe

Save the file as gtasuspend.bat
Step 3: Create a shortcut to that batch file. Edit the properties of that shortcut, and set ti to run MINIMIZED.
Step 4: Download and extract HotkeyPlus http://www.brianapps.net/hotkeyplus/
May be helpful to add the hotkeyplus exe file to your startup.
Step 5: Launch hotkey plus. In your Systray, right click it's icon and choose Configuration. Click Add and browse to teh shortcut you create. give it a hotkey.

That's it. Now you can launch GTA online. go into a session, and then press that hotkey. In about 10 seconds, you shoudl see that everyone has left.. Server is now yours....well, until new people start joinging. Someitmes I go hours with it empty.

how is this an exploit? its a way to avoid hackers. nothing worse than being in a session and then a hacker shows up and ruins it. nothing in this script is messing with any gta files. just suspending a process. it's perfectly legal.

And you do realize you download a program to achieve this? You then sabotage/block/suspend your connection to achieve this empty lobby.
Now ask yourself this, is this intended? Is this implemented by rockstar, did they add this to their game?

Nope.....

They might not take action against people right now who do this,but the future is not safe.

I beg to differ Elfheath. You need to learn what exploits are and what they do. This gives no advantage to the player. This does not hamper other players.

Wow, sure does. I like that better. Much less work. hehe thanks. Only issue is it could possibly interfere with nVidia surround, full screen vs windowed mode. But it does work.

In video games, an exploit is the use of a bug or glitches or game system by a player to their advantage in a manner not intended by the game's designers.

So did the game designer intend you to sabotage your connection?
Did they intend you to to earn easy cash,By dropping out?
You are using this to your own advantage to make cash in a safe place "exploit"

No matter how you look at it it's a exploit.
You deliberately drop out of the game (its not indended) to make easy cash in a safe environment.
No matter if you use a program or windows firewall to do so.
You are exploiting the game by doing so.

It is expressly written that exploiting the games mechanics is bannable. (this is what you are doing).... This to me counts as that, and telling other players to use it without worry is irresponsible.

It will be easy for them to tell from logs and statistics that for some reason this player isn't properly communitcating with their system, yet is playing all the time, alone, farming.

But whatever.....if players want to take the chance, have fun. Just don't come crying when you get banned.
It may not be detectable atm, but hey will see what they cook up in the studio for players who use explicit ways to earn stuff.

OK, I think I like my option better. yes, the ALT-ENTER works, and there's nothing you have to do. But it takes longer, and it makes it seem as if the game is gonna crash.

Or.... you hold the Alt + Enter key for 10 seconds. This changes the game between Windowed and Fullscreen, the game is suspended when this happends, 10 seconds is long enough for the game to drop connection to everyone else in the lobby and then you will have the lobby to yourself (How I do CEO missions)

It's definitely an exploit but since it assures your sale goes through people want to play semantics and dodge the actual definition. The games far more difficult in a populated session where people are encouraged by R* to attack you. If it belongs anywhere it's on a forum about glitching and exploits.

Unfortunately without this glitch most business sales are going to get destroyed. So much so that most people wouldn't even pursue it. The only option is to force a solo session or just a crew with a focus on sales. When you do that you're often confined to their rules and will end up missing out on the warlike side of the game. There really is no comfortable balance and in this fashion R* has created an environment where just about everyone is breaking the rules in one way or another.

Next come the I got banned for no reason posts. There are so many reasons that you've surely done something. It's just a running joke really. Nobody believes you because well... nobody believes anyone is innocent. Have you been playing longer than 8 hours? Well... You're probably guilty because there are glitches galore and a 6 year old could stumble across them.

you make a good point that Rockstar has created this mess. The fact that I am looking for a way to bail out of a session because the enviornment is too hostile towards fun gameplay should be an issue. But this game caters to the type of player that would grief others.

Ehrm, I wouldn't use tools like Auto-Hotkey.
Those are often banned by anti-cheat software, because the can be used to write macros that can perform superhuman inputs.

It can't be any simpler than holding Alt+Enter for 10 seconds.

Suspending your GTA V process or disrupting your internet connection is definitely safe.
In fact, it is intended by Rockstar, because you are put into your own public session.
The other option would be to just drop you and make you connect to a new one, but Rockstar just give you a hint message how you can do so.

Besides, you can disrupt your internet connection by using software & hardware firewalls, as well as blocking the respective ports directly in your router.
Both methods that Rockstar can't even differentiate from a real unstable connection.

Some wireless routers have a button to disable wi-fi connection.
Or you could simply unplug your network cable.

In any case, being in alone in a public session could simply happen, when no one is playing in your region or time of day.
The game is actually designed to be played alone online as well, as your character can only carry a single box, requiring you more time to haul everything, which makes it mostly impossible to get everything in time.

So please, stop telling people that they are somehow exploiting the game by doing CEO/MC stuff alone.

They are exploiting it, where in the game notes its says if you want a single lobby, lag out, block the ports, use a firewall or switch ur router off and on, then you can have a room

In fact, it is intended by Rockstar, because you are put into your own public session.

Where is it shown its intended to do so?
You can search for a new room until you find one or create your own solo lobby with invite only.
Nowhere says its intended to sabotage your own connection
