There is no sound coming from GTA 5. I tryed other games and the sound works so I know that it is a problem with GTA 5.

I'm sorry but you have me confused. Can you re-explain this. Sorry

I'd disable a sound device - forget the switching and forcibly only give one to use. I'd probably forcibly uninstall / update/reinstall the drivers for that device too and test. Then doublecheck/test all the playbacks/so on. And then I'd disable that device - and start all over on your other audio device. Any audio devices that are 3rd party like amd hd audio, nvidia hd audio, razer hd audio, virtual audio cable, web cams, etc etc etc - I'd disable it all while testing. Taking note of generic audio plug use or usb audio - so on.

Dunno what else to tell you - I seriously doubt gtav is the problem "at the moment." It IS known to have issues with 3rd party software-audio devices - but generally acts out by stuttering hard.
I tried this again and it did work. Thank you for your help!!!

So you assume right away that it is a problem with the game without even trying to check game files to see if there is any corrupt file!
Just stfu

I've got glitch that there's no any sounds just background car sounds and punching swooshes. When someone calls me game just freezes in one position until I interrupt (skip) the call. To be honest, this is kind of scary :steamsalty:

For me there is no sound until I open the voice chat section of the settings, then instantly it's fixed and it seems that the underlying issue is that it uses the communication protocol for my bluetooth headphones instead of the high quality protocol. That may also be a good workaround for Ichi no Mustache as well. Only issue I still have is that I have to do it every time I launch the game, not just once, maybe if I just disable the communication part of my headphones system wide it might help and I don't use that part since I have a different headset for that it might not be a bad idea but for others it might be needed.

The easiest way I found to fix this was:

- Go to sounds
- Disable **everything** in playback AND recording that is not your main audio output

Fixed. That simple.

According to GTA 5 players, when they start the game there is no sound at all. The reason for no audio in GTA 5 could be that you have enabled Windows Sonic for headphones.

Right-click on the sound icon on the bottom right of the desktop and hover the mouse cursor over the spatial sound. If Windows Sonic for headphones is selected just select off. Start the game and the no audio issue with the game will be resolved.

I hope I helped you... I have found fix on https://respawnfirst.com/gta-5-exited-unexpectedly-fix/

Started having this issue to. It seems to be random sometimes. Usually I amost always have no sound when I first start playing. Once & a blue moon it will work with hardly any issues but other times there will be no sound right after the Rockstar Games intro in the startup. I think some games such as GTA5 are just unstable or there are bugs & issues Rockstar Games developers just refuse to fix. It may also be instability issues with Windows 10. Lots of Steam games particularly the ones that have been cross platformed from consoles have the most instability issues with Windows 10. Its not the file integrity or anything like that. I checked this twice.

if you have no sound and when you start on the main in game take your mouse and click into the game and then you will have audio thats what i do , no need to change anything in settings no need to unistalled the drivers

Turns out my issue was my bluetooth headset was showing up as two devices in Windows taskbar audio settings both as a headset and headphones. Selected headphones and it seems to be working although audio quality is a bit choppy for some reason.
