GTA5 Redux and online banning

So, I played GTA Online for the first time in ages, after I've installed Redux a while ago... People start saying "a modder is online" which I thought "oh someone's using hacks" or something...but I mentioned that I have Redux, and it was mentioned that one can be banned for using this. Is this true? If so, is it an automatic ban no matter what if you sign in with this? Is it permanent?

If you were somehow able to go online with a mod, ANY mod, then yes, you're pretty much guaranteed a ban.

How long is the ban for initially? Banned for a graphics enhancement is stupid.

Dang, too late. Oh well... It'll re-download quickly. Plus safer to re-install from scratch.

Did you uninstall through steam? That isn't enough.
You'll need to manually delete the entire directory if you are going that route.

Good to know, I'll cancel the download and delete it. Am I guaranteed a ban, though? Just morbidly curious.

Have you ever installed anything aftermarket? After a few Google searches of what I posted about originally, it mentioned you should re-install, even after something as menial as what I installed.

just a heads up OP, but sometimes bans come in waves. If its your first time, and because you didnt exactly do anything bad it would only be a ban for a small period of time. Although your character will be wiped and you cannot appeal. So just pray that nothing comes of it

I basically have no online character lol it's just kind of pathetic that they have no system in place to differentiate between mods. Like seriously, banning over a graphics mod? This is 2017... They either need to fix their garbage "ban" system or stop being communist
