My PS4 controller suddenly stopped working on GTA V

So I was booting up my game like I allways do, getting ready for some GTA fun. but when I finally spawned into my appartement after all the loading. My controller was not being detected. I tried replugging the controller and heard the detected device sound from Windows, but still it didn't work. I tried restarting the game, use at different controller, use a different USB cable, but nothing worked. Since the first day I bought GTA V on PC my PS4 controller has been working splendidly, but that ended today. Does anyone have the same problem or some idea of how to fix it?

Something wrong with your usb hub, controller, or cable? It could have shorted out.

Also. Why not consider a Bluetooth usb?

Try another controller, that one might have just went out. I prefer the 360 wired ones, they tend to last a while and cheap.

Well I managed to fix it through the most basic way of fixing anything PC related. I just restarted my computer. Thanks anyways guys.

I'm always getting this problem, using DS4windows over BT or Cable, if game pad loses connection (ie low batt) GTAV won't recognice it again, same solution: restarting.

Any faster solution is welcome.

On the subject of the DS4 issue, I think it masks the actual DS4 driver or something related to drivers. If you go into your device manager you can turn it back on. I havent used DS4 windows in quite a long time so it very well may be different now after patches.
