This strangers and freaks mission (for Trevor) is impossible, as the jerrycan runs out of gas way too fast on PC version. Any advice?

I didn't even realise it did run out of gas?

I can't say that's ever happened to me. Just to check, you are following the yellow line on the minimap while pouring it?

Strange, I didn't have any trouble the two times I did this. Had more than enough in fact.

Are you running any mods?

I went exactly on the line and could never make it to the end. Retried 7 times.

That's really strange then, and I suspect your game is somehow glitched. Might want to verify the cache through your Steam game library, though I don't know if that would help.

Try loading a different previous save and see if it's just your current save that's corrupt/glitched?

I do remember that during the O'neil farm mission it seemed like it worked properly. I just noticed now that it's running out way too fast. Also, I tried in free roam with other characters and it does the exact same thing.

I just did that mission a couple of days ago again and never had a single problem. I only have scripthook and simple trainer installed for SP.

just in case anyone stumbles across this problem in the future, i fixed this issue by turning my refresh rate down from 144hz to 60 hz. the gasoline counter goes down much slower with lower fps.

I figured it out. Don't move your mouse at all. For some reason, moving your mouse makes you spend more gas. So just use M1 to pour gas and WASD only.

I turned vsync on and it too made the gas drain slower.

I found a new soloution. you are able to run down to the nearby amunation and buy more gas. Wait until around 20 ammo and then you can grab a car and drive there and back.

Thank you! My problem exactly. Setting it to 60fps fixed it; I would run out at the last 4 dots on 144fps, but with 60fps I had 54 or so left. Seems tied to the framerate... yay.

not sure if you got the answer or not but thanks to DarkViper for the info, having higher FPS causes the jerrycan to empty faster
