Wrecked Ships
We are going to "get this thing up and running again." Has anyone figured out what all these repaired ships are for which we get everywhere we go?

There is a way for you to get free fuel, let me know if you want to find it yourself or if you want me to tell you.

You can ask your allies for free escort ships (example: the Tywom give you four free Tywom ships), but after that you have to pay RU to get more ships. The repaired ships are a way to get more ships without paying RU. Those repaired ships are automatically stored at the starbases.

When you enter the starbase the "Trade", "Outfit", "Hypergate", and "Manage Fleet" windows appear. Click on the "Manage Fleet" window and then click on "Recruit" and all the escort ships you own and all the escort ships you can buy will appear. If your escort fleet is already using all available docking bays points then you might have to click on an escort ship to remove it before you can click "Recruit".

Also the repaired ships are different than the ships you can get from your allies (different weapons), so the repaired ships could cover different parts of the rock paper scissors than your allied ships (example: right now you are allied with Tywom so you can get one (Tywom) escort ship type and your flagship probably has a nuke and a point defense. The point defense is good against Drenkend boarding parties and the nuke is good against most ships and the Tywom is good against most ships, but you are still weak to the Trandals, because they can speed boost to avoid the nuke and avoid the Tywom deployable turrets. One of your repaired ships might be good against the Trandals it depends what ship you found.)

I was wondering why sometimes the ships were free! :) Sure tell me where the free fuel is, it is just a game. If I was really in space someone may have given me a tip. Does the point defense weapon happen automatically or do I have to press the secondary weapon button?

Free fuel is at the colonies (not the homeworlds) of your allies. The most convenient one is Alpha Repeculae VI (planet just to the left of the Tywom homeworld, near the sun). It is most convenient because it is close to the Precursor starbase near Sol. If you Hypergate (instant free travel between Precursor starbases) to that starbase with enough fuel to get to that colony you will never have to pay for fuel again.

To get point defense and a better nuke for free, go to the Ceres asteroid space station in the asteroid belt of the Sol system (where you started the game). Then ask to do a combat trial. After that ask to do a "throw everything you have at me" trial. One will give you the better nuke and the other will give you the point defense. You could also buy them at the Precursor or Earth starbase for some RU.

Don't forget to get the lander cannon from the Lexite moon base.

If I remember right, your primary weapon is left mouse click and your secondary weapon is right mouse click. No weapons are automatic, which leaves you in total control of how much to drain your battery (mana or energy whatever you want to call that blue bar next to the green bar that is your health).

You talk like I do in some generalities. I did not even know about jumping between precursor starbases until just now when you told me. I hope there are lots of precursor bases to jump between around the galaxy. I already knew some aliens gave away free fuel but did not know all the allied colony worlds would do this. Thanks for the information! :)

I've had practice with technical writing, and try to use that skill to be clear while explaining.

If you are stuck on the Lexite quest after the moon go to Elpis, the moon very far south of Earth in Sol system.
