i have finished the quest twice at this point, when do you start to see colony ships start to go out or is the quest bugged. also the option is still there to finish a third time if i find another hyperdrive

I may be out of line a bit here since I haven't completed the quest either. But I did get some comments when I found "suitable" planets to colonize, perhaps that's what you need to do?
There should be one in the star system north east of SOL in the goldylock zone, the green ring orbit.

i got the prompt of this planet may be habitable and we may want to take note while i was exploring but nothing further then that

i did sell my first hyperdrive prior to getting that mission so maybe i jumped ahead and bugged it

Can this mission be played more than once?

I completed it...but then, when I went back to Star Control, they asked me for another one.
Should I be saving all of my hyperdrives every time I get an upgrade?

I tried to complete the mission again and the commander woman keeps telling me I have to remove the hyperdrive from my ship even though I have a spare in my inventory. Anyone else have that issue?

Yep same thing, got spare hyperdrive but she says i have to take one off my ship *shrugs*

after the first turn in the next one has to be a pretty high upgrade, the second time i turned in i had to use the +70% one, 65% wouldnt work. although after second turn in nothing happens so not missing anything. you just get a third turn in lol

Bright side looks like not just me so no reason to make a new game and start over without selling my first HD

The mission can be completed 3 times. Tywom Cuddle Drive and Not so Cuddle Drive are not accepted.

Okay...so... What ARE accepted? Only drives you've salvaged? Can you buy drives from somewhere.

And...what actually happens? Do you just get three Earthling colonies, and that's it? Cuz that seemed to be the thing: you needed these drives for a colony ship. Are we only able to have three colonies?

I have got 3 colonies now, but they don't seem to actually do anything... Seems quite a few unfinished events and objects that do nothing on certain planets too.

What are the correct HD upgrades then? do you salvage them on planets? or do you buy them when unlocking more Starbases and hus more tech?

if on planets salvage, locations please?

Hyperdrives that are accepted:
Enforcer Drive, obtained at the end of the quest Stop the Drenkend.
Possibly Stolen Hyperdrive, bought from the Menkmack.
Overdrive, obtained from the Overmind after an alliance.
