Skirmish will not start [fixed]

So I played the tutorial games, and everything was fine...
Then I decided to start a skirmish. But after I press "Start Game" all that happens is, a screen loading where it says "Creating Game Server", and from there, it does NOTHING AT ALL! It just sits there, minute after minute after minute...

So what could be going on? Any and all help appreciated, I have no idea where to start from here.

Okay, good for you! But how does that help me figure out why mine doesn't? No tips what to look for?

Do you have the base game? (you should)
Do you have any mods active? (try turning them off)

Yes, I do have the base game. How else could I have played the learning missions, right?
I also have all DLCs except "Conspicuous Consumption", "Limited Supply" and "Market Corrections".

No mods are present. I usually want to experience the un-modded game before I start mixing it up. In the meantime, I have even uninstalled and reinstalled the entire game... it makes no difference yet... I'm still not getting past the "Creating Game Server" screen.

Hmm strange, I don't have any other ideas about what the problem could be. Maybe you could join the offworld trading company discord and see if other people are able to help you there.

Actually, I tried something else just now... I not only uninstalled the game, but I also renamed the old saved games folder. After reinstalling, I can suddenly play skirmishes. Now all I need to do is figure out how I get my original save data back without breaking skirmish again.

UPDATE: oops, that broke it again... I'll have to start all over from scratch.

I've no way to diagnose your issue, I was just responding because at the time no one else was replying to you. The point of my reply wasn't, since you're projecting unwarranted hostility at me, to say ha i can run it you can't, it was simply to point out the game is in fact working, the point being something unique is going on at your end causing this, not on the game end.

I'm sure your intentions were good, but I already *knew* that it worked well for MOST people -- even though they didn't post to tell me so -- because if it had NOT worked, I wouldn't have been the only one posting about it. So your post didn't tell me *anything* useful.

So excuse me for being disappointed with the unhelpful content of your message. I then simply asked if you didn't have any ideas for me to look at...

I'm getting the same problem too...
Here is my error log

Same problem over a year later. Any solutions develop in the last 12 months?

I had to uninstall everything, including all saved games as well as deactivate cloud saving.
