This feeling alone is simply one variation of "the other lane is going faster".

I use this mod, because it gets a little closer to what I'd see in real life, and increases the green time of turn left lanes: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2164516577 However, there's no actual "fix" for this. Remember, if you're unluck enough to reach it on red again, you'll wait even more! The time you spend on red is the sum of all green, minus yours.

Just a question: did you drive in US IRL? I have to admit I didn't as a driver, but I did as a passenger and I did notice that red lights are excruciatingly long in US as oppose to what I am used to here in Europe and I feel SCS got this into the game pretty well. This is especially true when comparing the red lights in ETS2 and ATS. ETS2 has red lights shorter than ATS and that fits RL from what I saw in my travelling trips. So, I don't really complain.

Play truckersmp, watch for other drivers and zoom through it.

Drive more faster, seriously. If you don't get very near to the speed limit the game will usually penalize you for that. Try it :cozybethesda:

Patience is a virtue I guess. And it sucks for some people to be in the back of the queue when the good Lord was spreading it among humankind.

i wonder if the traffic lights in the US have traffic detection, or is this a game thing where they dont. i had multiple times already where i was at a red light, waitied fpor all the other sides to get green first before i got green, but there was no other traffic at all. yesterday in idaho i drove passed road work, i had to wait at a red light, but there was no traffic at all from the other side. i know in europe (at least in holland) traffic l;ights have detection systems to detect if there actually is any traffic, to help with the flow

Nice one Wolfgang! Yes to the other question about US traffic lights. There are sensors to detect traffic embedded into the pavement at the intersections. It has been like that for years.

Where I live in America the lights are relatively quick. We also have several roundabouts in and around my town.....they are being implemented more and more in many towns across America.

although I have the traffic fines deactivated, I get to the traffic lights and there are terrible queues, and besides having to wait a lot, when the vehicle in front of me should pass, the traffic light turns red again :(

hate the traffic lights :D

i have a feeling they forgot to put them in the game, unless the bigger cities do actually have the sensors, i think the traffic lights in ets2 feel faster because alot of times it goes from your street to the side streets and then your street is green again, in ats it seems the sequence is longer, left lane, straight lanes, sidestreet left lanes, side street all lanes, then your left lane again.
wich in europe can be annoying sometimes, if you want to turn left, but the oncoming traffic als has a green and just keeps coming and you basicly have to wait till the light goes red again before you can turn

Well in America there are intersections where you want to take a left turn and the oncoming traffic is free (green)to proceed, while you are given a flashing yellow arrow to proceed left, at your own discretion. So you have to have faith in your engine and transmission to make it to the other side of the street! I have had older vehicles that have stalled while making that left yield turn...only to have other cars honking like mad at me!

The traffic lights are terribly synced. IRL, if you're on a road with a series of intersections and traffic lights, once the first light turns green, if you're driving the exact speed limit, by the time you get to the next intersection, the light should also be turning green. Traffic lights are supposed to be timed this way for smoother traffic.
