So nah, I just skip used truck.
 Just my thoughts on it.
Either SCS misunderstood the people that wanted it, or they listened to the wrong fanboys.
It got people to stop asking for used trucks; to which in ironic form, they immediatly spend lots of money repairing.
-- It's not just the Used Trucks .. Your Driver WILL make expensive repairs/Replacements on BRAND NEW trucks also. Need an Oil change? Let me just buy this new Engine instead.
Edit: For clarity, it's more the new Repair System that is "broken", the Used Trucks are just too expensive for what you get, and I think were NOT intended for New Players, but for those Old Hands that need a way to Waste Money.
Yes I know that the only reason they were taken out of the new dealerships was to put them in there in the first place. But that's not relevant, OP asked 'Anyone found any positive' for them...that's a positive in the context of the new update.
You know... And this is just crazy hopeful thought, in a child's eyes... But.. If they took the older trucks & body styles out of the new dealerships, and gave them this used dealer format ; It could make a great segue for introducing OTHER old trucks and body styles..
It's the only hopeful thing about it, but if that is the goal behind then imho they should have waited with implementing it 'till they have a truck for it, but I think it's idle hope :-)

As for the used trucks? With ETS2 I actually did buy a fairly decent Renault Magnum on my test save. However pre-used trucks, it honestly would have maybe only cost me $20-30k more for a new one.
Used trucks will be okay if they plan on overhauling the economy overall. Otherwise as-is, it's cheaper in most cases to just buy new.
However, I see something funny (if it counts as "positive") happening on forums instead of the game itself:
- people requesting old trucks, but not wanting to deal with the issues they bring
- people complaing there's nothing to spend money on, yet they buy cheap trucks for their employees
- people asking for more managing-related features and harder economy, but dunno how to manage the sudden increase on expenses
(it'd be great if they added 300 more available employees right now)
Amen.
Personally this change doesn't affect me much, as I had already bought all the trucks I was interested in before the update hit, and I have 20mil in the bank with drivers making 250k a day so even if I did want to buy one it wouldn't be a big deal for me. I don't run multiple profiles (aside from one to test out mods which I've used a cash mod on anyways) so I'll probably never have cause to use a second-hand truck.
I do like the idea of having the dealership there for new players first starting out...being able to pick up a bargain to get on your feet is a nice touch, and could foster a sentimental link with your broken, beaten up machine. Sure it's a wreck, but it got you to the business empire you run today, so it's special to you. I do wonder if it needs a little more balancing though, given that from what I hear some of the trucks you get there are pretty much unusable, breaking down too frequently to be worth it. Perhaps a slightly greater reduction in cost than what we already have?
Also, the issue of employees fixing trucks and costing the player far more than just buying them a new truck outright is definitely an issue, I'd agree, and needs addressing. Perhaps, rather than them restoring things, they just do basic maintenance to keep the thing on the road. And the jobs they accept will just take them longer to complete when their truck is beaten up, and the payout they bring in could be reduced. That way they still do make at least a little cash, but the state of their truck still has an effect. Again, it'd play into the ethos of building a company from humble beginnings - you and your employees scraping by, not making much per job, but just building up the reserves until you can finally afford that rebuild. And then once that is done, their income drastically improves.
I have seen some people complain that they can no longer get old, out-of-production trucks with 0 mileage on them. Gotta be honest I don't really understand the complaint on that one...it's just a number, and one which will be increasing considerably as you drive it. If it's important to know how many miles you've done yourself, why not just make a note somewhere of how many miles it had when you bought it, and subtract that from the total now to see the result?
On the whole, I think the used truck dealer has potential, and could be a good addition. But it does need some work before it will reach that potential.
