What does buying trucks online exactly do?
I assumed the visit dealer option would give me a route to the store and physically require me to go the dealer but it didn't. I then bought another truck for a hired driver and managed to do it remotely too using visit dealer without needing to be there and even had the truck delivered. So what's the actual purpose of the buy online option if I can buy remotely without having to use it anyways?

Buying online works 24/7. If you happen to purchase directly at a dealer "remotely" as you call it on Saturday evening, the clock will jump forward to Monday 8 AM, when the dealer actually opens. Same for any workday after shop closure, it will forward to the next morning.

If you have over 300 drivers and have to buy a truck for each one, it is a lot easier to do it online than going to individual dealers for each truck manufacturer. Once you have a nice employee truck specced out, you can buy as many as you want in minutes, all the same.

I'm guessing it's more of a late-game thing then and not really that relevant for me yet.

Also I assume there's a way to save a specific loadout for mass buying? I might have overlooked it since I barely had money for my first truck and had to take a loan to afford a garage and a new truck for one driver.

Once you buy a truck and customize it, the truck will be saved in you fleet trucks. The next time you buy the same type of truck it will show the stock truck, but you click up top on your fleet trucks and it will copy that set up again.. You will have to do it one at a time as far as I have learned yet, don't know of a way to buy 10 at a time yet.
