Blue thing on the windshield
I never drive a real American truck before so Im very curious about a blue thing stick on the middle side of the windshield and that bothered me so much because most of the truck have it.and I didn't see those on the ETS trucks.

It tells you if you need to pull into a weigh station or not.

That blue thing is a real device, saw it when I met DaVE for GATS earlier in the year. That device sends and receives signals from an overhead device to tell you (loudly, mind you) whether or not you need to pull into a weigh station.

ETS2 doesn't have them because largely, there doesn't seem to be weigh stations, or it's not very common. I only just started seeing weigh stations in the Black Sea DLC when I was rolling through Romania and Turkey.

They're called Pree Pass. IRL, your company information is registered with them. When you go under the sensor before any wight station that is using it, your company information & safety score is relayed to the scales and you are weighted on the highway. If you're company is in good standing and you're not overweight, you get a green light and keep going.

Also, if you observe it closely, once you are near a weight station, and whether you are given the go ahead signal or asked to weigh in, you can see the Green or the Red light indicating the same, so its not just an aesthetic piece, but an actual working part of the cabin.

Would require a modded truck with all its downsides.

Is raising your seat an option?

yea maybe try adjusting your seat so the thing isn't visible, i personally can't be bothered, it's like an accessory that you can't remove, doesn't really obstruct your view like cringe curtains and headbobs does

Me being picky, I just wish we could recolour it to blend in more with our truck's paint scheme. The blue clashes quite a lot with my orange and white.

The real company issuing them will probably not let you choose either.

The blue thing is actually two things in one.
It is an EZPASS and lets you know if you have to pull into a weigh station noted by colors, (red, yellow, and green.)
Nowadays since electronic ELD (logging system) this renders the old blue ezpass defunct in that regard if the station uses DRIVEWYZE.

I thought EZpass was the Eastern Seaboard's toll payment system...

It is, we aren’t in any states that use it yet, either. They are correct that you can use a Prepass for toll collection (not just EZPass states, others too) as well as weigh stations.

Is it not for all of America? Driving into the Midwest I still saw toll roads that used EZpass.
