Choosing a Shepp

Playing for a while, hitting level 4 with a couple of NPCs and I still have the Shepp quest to do. I haven`t even tried to ask around to be my Shepp as I don´t know what it entails on te long run and if will it clash with friendship and romance status I may decide.
Not sure who I should aim for as to be my Shepp.
That said I would like to hear from other player`s experiences about the feature and how it affects the playthrough, if it does, and if it worth getting it done asap or wait to later.
I also drop a couple of questions,
Can we Romance and Shepp the same NPC? Will that have any conflict or issue?
Can we have more than 1 Romance partner and can we change to another if we end up not liking that one at some point?
I assume we can have only one Shepp but can we change it or we´re stuck with that choice forever?

meh, if you're afraid it gets in the way of romance, just pick one of the bots or something?
The fishing bot is easy as pebbles to befriend.

The Shepp choice is the one non-changable decision you have to make. It won't conflict with your romance option. Whoever you choose as your Shepp will have some unique dialogue at times referencing being your Shepp.

Romance options aren't locked in and you can change whoever you pursue a relationship with. You can have multiple romances.

If you don't mind spoilers, rather than getting all villagers to level 4, the wiki can probably give you an overview of their stories if you want to pick a Shepp to focus on.

The Shepp stuff either isn't in the game yet, or having one doesn't matter.

It would be nice if they gave you a weekly task or something.

I am still working on my Shepp, although as far as I know it does not matter who you choose (at least currently).

Myself I chose Sifuu as I liked her voice actor and the characters attitude.

So far the only negative of not doing it is that the quest keeps popping up when I complete another quest.

I randomly picked Badruu the farmer and it had no affect on my game other than maybe an additional quest or two. Pick the person you like the best or who your favorite profession expert is. Picking your Shepp advances the in-game story.

I chose Tamala. I don't think it'll conflict with friendship quests since you have to be maxed out friendship level with them to even ask them to be your shepp. I haven't romanced Tamala yet, but the option is still there. So I don't think it'll lock you out of it if you request a romanceable villager to be your shepp.

Yes you can romance and shepp the same npc with no conflicts.

Yes you can have two romance partners, and I believe you can change to another by breaking up with them.

You don't have to break up with any them before pursuing others. I've collected 3 romance pins and I'm working on my 4th, and will eventually collect all of them. You can only wear 2 pins at the same time, but I think you can just swap out pins to get some unique dialogue options without clicking the breakup button.

I already forgot the shepp was a thing. They have a unique part in the cutscene, then it never comes up again.

During the "Winterlight Wonders" quest your shepp was the one to introduce you to the Christmas stuff tradition in the game and to end the quest with. But it was just some dialogue. If you didn't have any shepp during this quest then it was Jina.

I have started romancing Reth and I can’t ask him to be my shepp anymore which is a bummer because cooking is my favourite thing in the game. From reading comments I’d say chaw your shepp before you romance
