Making money

Relatively new… just started this week. Trying to expand my house but everything is so expensive. I find I never have funds for anything. Any tips? How are you all making money? Thanks!!

I am also new, but most of my money comes from selling bugs, gems, and fish currently. It does not make lots of gold but its allowed me to buy the recipes and back packs so far, but the last 25k expansion will be slow going but then again this games not for those looking to make fast progression I have found.

find what you like and do a lot of it, for example i really like mining so i go break rocks for the fun of it, and sell the rocks and minerals i find, also theres sometimes gemstones that sell for a higher price

prioritize your farm. Get all the dirt in there, plant seeds asap, water at 5(maybe 6am) game time. repeat and replace plants with the star quality plants until your plots are all star quality. repeat and you'll soon unlock the seed collector and preserves jar to turn your harvest into jams and drinks. it's non stop passive income without requiring you to spend any more on supplies as long as you keep the flow going

just don't sell all your plants. you need those to make more seeds

• Mining - Selling starstones. Sell flint, stone, & ore you don't need.
  
  
• Fishing - You can purchase regular worms from Zeki and fish just about anywhere and still make money selling the raw fish. Glow farms & glow worms will come later.
  
  
• Farming - Purchase farm plots from Badruu as soon as you can, place them next to each other if you can stomach it not looking pretty, and utilize the buffs they provide one another.

• Cooking - Unless you're joining a cake party listed in the #lfg-parties channel on the Discord at https://discord.gg/playpalia, DO NOT try cooking solo for money. It is always a net loss.
  
  
• Bug Catching - Catching Vampire Crabs within Flooded Fortress, Bahari Bay from 6 p.m. until 3 a.m. can sort of be profitable plus you'll get ~30 silk thread if you manage to find and catch every one that spawns during the timeframe.

I make money farming iron. I break rocks and iron. There's chances for sunstones to drop. I sell the sunstones, make makeshift arrows to sell with the flint, and you can sell the iron if you don't need it or hoard it. I hoard it personally. I'm always running out of iron crafting all the furniture. By farming iron, you also have a chance to find palium, a rare ore. Keep an eye out for callouts for palium, flow trees, and the grove. The grove spawns at midnight in game and people will call it out after someone finds it. Carry flare arrows if you can so you can call things out yourself too. Everyone appreciates call outs.

What is the grove??

Converting crops to seeds is a net gain in profit as well. This does not pertain to blueberries and apples.

It's midnight at bahari bay. Always midnight, so once per hour. It could be just about anywhere, but if you listen carefully at the stroke of midnight, you can hear it, and usually people will call it out if you ask.

Basically sell anything you don't need.
Unfortunately refining or cooking doesn't really make much extra.

It's also kinda too bad you can't sell furniture...

But at least there's plenty of stuff to find.
